i want to lower my ratio, get some shallower, wrapped, bars, a set of machined wheels with normal profiles, and put a brake on. hopefully this will help me save my aching knees and maybe work on technique some.

i've also been dreaming of a nice flip flop conversion with fenders and some kind of rack to strap **** like my skateboard onto. something with clips and straps and that i wouldn't mind locking out of my sight for decent amounts of time. the ultimate around town/beater bike, if you will.

not only that, but i've been lusting over an orbea volata at my LBS and fantasizing about coasting, bombing down mountains, and shifting gears.

oh yeah, and i've been wearing full lycra on all of my rides, unless i'm just going a couple blocks.

what does this all mean? have i reached my practicality threshold? am i just turning into a *****? is function finally taking precedence over fashion?
