Darling, It's Sad To See You Go....

Well, I'm trading my Bianchi for the On-One. The new bike still needs new shoes, so I get to spend some tender moments with Bella Azul, the trusty fixed-gear before she gets parted out to the Velo Exchange (thanks to Rich at AVX).

For those of you who are a little heartbroken, wipe those tears. She gave me an epic ride this weekend not to be forgotten. First an awesome crit mass on Friday, then an awesome 60 mile nonstop on Saturday.

Like God, we rested on Sunday. Awesome bike. I will be building another, just not likely a Pista.:)

Cheers.

-Selle San Marco saddle
-Look pedals
-Winwood Insteps
-Vittoria Team Pro Kevlar (!) *thanks to Phil at Chain Reaction Bicycles, Augusta*
-38cm custom chopped Scott riser bars
-ATI Warlock grips
-Cane Creek Cross brake lever
-custom awesome matte blue tape job
-rim tape top tube protector
-lots of love and affection

80 views and not so much as one " that seat is higher than giraffe balls" observation?:D

I'm surprised, because it's actually an ungodly (or is it Godly?) high seat. I like to extend my legs.:)

Which On-One? The Pompino, or one of the MTB varieties?

man, we live in parallel worlds or something... 1) I just put my bianchi pista on CL today.
2) the saddle is stupid high on both my bikes!

parting is truly sweet sorrow. I've loved every minute of riding my pista too.
It's taken me WEEKS to actually decide to sell the d**n thing!

good luck with the new ride.

WTF is up with those pedals? LOOK clipless pedals with clips and straps? Or am I seeing things?

I like the blue on chrome though. Is that tape or that same kind of contact paper that Eddie B used?

Ah, I see. So you can wear street shoes when riding to the bar, but you just have to snap out the adapters so you can go for a ride in your road shoes? Is that the idea?

dutret 08-01-06 08:37 AM

I don;t know about the winwood ones but some of them actually sort of "clip" on to the back of the sneaker so you get a much more secure connection then you would with clips sans cleats. Then if you need to put your foot down you twist and the instep comes out still attached to your shoe. I used them in a sprint triathalon once and it worked pretty well. The advantage being they stiffen the sole because they extend the whole distance and are really good at keeping your feet in yet you can you shoe out in seconds and run/walk/not look like an idiot whereever you are going with them.

How old is that pista? I really like that colour combo and haven't seen it before.

It's an '06 bought in '05. The color is courtesy of Home Depot.
