*** insert stud and/or stud-finder joke here ***

And yeah, I just moved into a new place 6 weeks ago and haven't gotten around to figuring out the storage thing yet either. I think my commuter is going to get hung from one of those large rubberized hooks in the front entrance though since there's a large beam running across the ceiling there.

You can use these with the track rails or without. The bike hooks (both vertical and horizontal) mount with two 2" wood screws that are included. The screw holes are aligned vertically so it can be mounted on the same wall stud. Prices range from $9 to $14 for the individual pieces and can be found at Home Depot. I'm not sure how much the track rails are, though.

EDIT: The horizontal bike hook folds up when not in use.

The tracks range from 12 tto 18 depending on the length. Seems like a cool idea. that may be a project for me next week now that I have 7 bikes in the garage.

I just moved into an apartment and I'm looking for indoor storage solutions. It's been a couple years since this thread was started and I was wondering what you guys are using now a days.

Mine has it's own bed, star wars sheets.

Catnap 08-21-08 11:50 AM

my apt's tiny, so i keep one bike behind the couch and i sleep with the other one. the cool metal is really nice against my skin during the hot summer months. it's hell on the sheets, though. ;)

I store my fixed gear bike the same way that I store my other bikes.

thanks for bumping this thread. i'm moving to a new apartment at the end of the month that doesn't allow large hooks :(

same boat, zip. don't really want to fork out $80 for a wall rack.
