62 tooth chainring - what BCD?

I need a 62 tooth chain ring for track. Is such a ring available in "standard" 130 or 135 BCD, or do I need to go and get an older 144 BCD set of cranks? Thanks!

why?

Learn_not2burn 08-09-06 06:35 AM

for track 144 bcd is standard. just get a smaller cog, it's cheaper and it'll weigh less if you are worried about weight.

You also should pick up some 190mm length crankarms while you are shopping. Like dutret said, "why?"

Exactly right, dutret. The setup is a 20" wheel trike lowracer with a Shimano Nexus 8 rear hub. To get the cadence I want at the speed I want, a 62 front is just about right.

Thanks to all who responded for the good advice.

I always wanted to fix a trike so I could ride around backwards like a maniac. What kind of trike comes with a Nexus?

Please post pics when you are done.

None that I know of. This is a Catrike Speed and I just can't stand to ride a stock bike. As anyone in the recumbent forum could tell you, I'm butchering a perfectly good trike just to have something personal and unique. How foolish! :D

I'll be happy to, but they'll probably be in the recumbent forum.
