Comfort Single Speeds?
I am thinking about buying either a "Electrabike" Townie Single Speed, or a "Giant" Suede SS single speed. Anyone tried out or looked at both? Both are priced nearly the same.
Which one is lighter and better built? Any recommendations? |
Even though this is, technically, the single speed forum, you would probably get better results posting this in the commuter forum. Most of us here ride track bikes with skinny tires, agressive geometry, and seat 6 inches above our bars. In other words, they couldn't be more different than what you're looking at.
That being said, i would recommend geting the townie with the nexus hub. Its only slightly heavier, still has the shorter chain with no deraileur, so the chain comming off won't be a problem. Those bikes aren't made to really be able to put much power to the pedals, so a couple of gears would probably make riding a lot easier if you have any hills or headwinds. |
try Recreational and Family section too. Those types buy a lot of ss cruiser bikes.
