i hate when kids on bikes think that someone going the RIGHT way down a oneway city street at 20mph wants to play chicken.

and i really hate the turn signal thing...but maybe im just too reliant on cars being dependable. cars < bikes

I saw both of these yesterday on my ride through downtown. I didn't get a good look at the first A-type, but it could have been a coastie.

Add to that the ******bag on the costie riding while talking on his cellphone to his friend about how some queer-looking guy is doing a trackstand on his road bike (ie: me). Ph34r my Deep-Vs. Then I watched him ride off down a sidewalk the wrong way on a one-way. I guess he's never seen Veloshop's pink and black team kit.

There's an article related to this on bikeportland.org right now. I didn't have any of the cops I passed ticket me for taking a lane yesterday, but traffic was only moving at 20mph tops.

i've been gone and missed this thread's blossoming...but i dunno, i'd also rephrase it as "it annoys me because it just isn't goddamn smart".

bike cops on the QB bridge talking to their girlfriends on their cell phones or playing psp when they should be looking for outlaw bikers.

...I work across the street from a hospital. I have to look out for debris and puke. At the last red before the hospital, I've lost count of puking passengers.
...My dog will chew up my chair, boxers, and flip flops. But he will not tear up any of my old bike gear (shoes, helmet). If he did, my wife couldn't complain about me buying new stuff.
...in all my searching, the dumpster here only serve up Xmart bikes, or the old, stamped, gas pipe, Monkey Ward/Sear/Whites bikes.

I think dutret has a much better vocabulary/comprehension than surfcity. In fact, dutret's comments are some of the only ones I actually trust when it comes to answering questions.

airport nomenclature, that, like LAX, comes from weather codes. old weather codes from before most airports were built. portland was "PD" and for the airport they slapped on an "X". why people call portland that, i dunno. quicker to type/write?

i couldnt agree more. im starting to see this a lot in gainesville too. i think its the dumbest thing ever to ride on the street without some form of braking on BOTH wheels. hopefully it wont take the ****** getting completely ****ed up in a big wreck to figure out they need another break.

ive even seen a few freewheel bikes with just a rear brake and no front!

All of you guys up in Toronto should start calling Toronto YYZ. Then at Critical Mass you could all ride along while singing the Rush song. "DUH-duh-DUH-DUH, DUH-duh-DUH-DUH, DUH-DUH-duh-duh..."

I hate big trucks. Especially the ones that have douchbags that think it is tight to throw glass beer bottles at you.

I hate walking into my LBS where all these really cool guys work, but having that one older employee look at me like i'm a ****ing waste of life for riding my bike in it's current set-up.

I HATE, HATE, HATE spitters. When someone comes flying up and spits on you, it is the worst feeling.

1)drafting buses
2)passing cars
3)riding on summer nights

I hate when you are cruising down a hill and some guy decided to stop at a green light to let someone in a huge pickup truck pull across the street. When the pickup freezes when he sees you and continues to block to road and you going flying over a curb and your handlebars just to avoid smacking into him. Well thats what happened today and I am a bit sore, but glad my bike n brain didn't get damaged. The jerk drove off.

So dangerous yet irresitably tempting when it's freezing out and there is a giant space of 70deg cng exhaust.

- i hate unmarked potholes.
- i hate when cars won't pass me on samll streets when they have 3 feet between me and them and another 3 feet on the other side of the car.
- hate how no one uses turn signals or respects right of way in philly.
