Yeah, some folks are really trying hard to look like a bum.

I can't grow a beard to save my life. The best i can do is the Castro/Guevarra patchy facial hair.

I hate shaving, so about once every six weeks I grow a beard. In between I have various styles of sideburns, most popularly big porkchop 'burns.

Edit: Burnsides!

I have a curly, Mr. Pringles moustache. But I can't grow a beard yet....

And fads are pathetic. Trends however, are awesome.

But facial hair is neither a fad nor a trend. It's genetic.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken (and correct me if I'm wrong) but beards have been around before fixies were.

May I present to you the immaculate Hercule Poirot. My style icon....

Maintaining an eclectic, yet anacronistic sense of dandyism for my entire clothed life (as encouraged by my parents -you should see my baby pictures) has afforded me the singular distinction of eluding simple descriptions such as "punk" and "hipster". Unfortunately, it is much harder to dodge cruder epithets et.al. "******" or "wierdo", but a suitably thick skin and selective hearing make for an adequate shield against the baser elements of our society...if it can still be called that.

I want an Amish beard like Sheldon Brown. I'm too lazy to shave the moustache and cheek parts, though, so I just look like a bum.

I've had a beard since I was 17, but as karmic payback for this early facial hair I can't grow anything on top of my head at 35. For some bizarre reason us premature balders seem to grow hair everywhere BUT our heads. Who's idea of a cruel joke was that anyway?

Oh yeah, and what is a "fixed gear beard" exactly? Are we talking a Sheldon Brown kinda thing? Because I used to sport that in my early 20s, but I rode a mountain bike then. Nowadays I tend to keep things mown.

I first started growing my beard to cover my vitiligo, but it has spread above the beard now so it is not working that well. I still have the beard though b/c I can't go back to shaving daily anymore. I don't like that they are viewed as trendy now.

i'll probably be growing my beard back soon. i had one while i was teaching and shaved it off just after quitting. now that i'm back in a school 3 days a week i remember why i grew it out in the first place (other than to look older than my students): i hate shaving more than once a week and it kills my skin. so, it's either grow a beard and look semi respectable, shave every other day and have constant horrible razor burn, or shave once a week and look totally skeezy the last few days at work.

vitiligo sucks. I have a patch under my chin where my hair grows white. The rest is on my arms.

I can't grow a beard worth ****, it must come from the mom's side because my dad looks like sasquatch.

Oh i get it fixed gear "beard" because people tend to assume that if you ride a fixed gear you are probably gay, so you need to date women to try to appear more straight... That explains why more boys have been hitting on me since I started riding fixed. I assumed they were just into "daddies"
