let's see... $900 in 1975... today that would be equivalent to purchasing a pepboy hybrid for $399,000 |

Looks like he paid 900 bucks for a bike that way too big for him.

What does everyone think of this deal? I'm thinking of going this way for my first fixie, since at this price I wouldn't be too hesitant to actually lock it up outside for more than 3 minutes in Toronto.

I love these early 90s Cannondales, but for a bike that's over a decade old (even if "only ridden 15 miles") seems a litte steep for a starting bid. Still, superbe pro.... |

the best bit is the description- "not suitable for road use...." |

"Mavic Open SUP":
http://cgi.ebay.com/mavic-open-sup-c...QQcmdZViewItem I read that SUP just refers to a technique that Mavic uses in building these. My question: Are these closer to the Open Sports of today or the Open Pros? Aka, should I just buy open sports for about the same price? Thanks... JAH |
SUP = Soudé Usiné Process = the joints are welded then machined.
FWIW open Sports aren't welded. |
They are also 28 hole rims.

I'm starting to fixate on this bike. I keep looking to see if anyone's made a bid...you know, using the 'idiots run in packs' method to justify my own stupidity...no one yet. What do you think a fair price is for this bike, giving the guy the benefit of the doubt on the "barely been used" front? |

BTW I paid $90.00 for one in 2005 and converted it and gave it to a friend...It was red though, maybe black cost more:rolleyes: |
