I knew all that, what is the length to the minimum insertion point? That's what I'm worried about. 220mm is long enough for me, but I don't know if it will work. All depends on that little line! D'oh...

It's 165mm to the top of the clamp and 170mm to the top of the nut.

Is that top of the clamp or to the rails? Min insert -to- rails would be quite helpful if someone were to be so kind.

They look like this;

Funky seatpost pic

I would estimate that it's 155-160mm from the mark to the rails. I can't measure it right now.

Ok, for future reference for anyone wanting the information I think I've got a general idea of the measurements of this thing... someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm basing this off really funky math and an image downloaded.

Bottom of post to rails: 220mm
Bottom of post to Min Insert: 62mm
Min Insert to Max Insert (where the post is no longer round): 62mm
Max Insert to rails: 96mm

(all all those up, it should equal the original 220mm, ain't I smart?)

I originally asked because I am replacing a seatpost which currently has exactly 110mm of seatpost showing up to the saddle rails. Wanted to be sure before dropping the $$ on the Miche SuperType that I wouldn't run out of round post before I got the saddle where it needed to be. Yeah, I ride larger frames than most it seems, so I'm usually running into the problem of unique styled posts not going far enough IN.
