Red Gore Tex Jacket

I know this is lame, but most of my fashion and bike seem to be red/black. Can anyone recommend a decent red, or red/black, gore tex jacket that is decent against wind and rain? I'm in Chicago, so I need something that handles the crappy weather well. The Pearl Izumi Vagabond comes in red, but it's not goretex. There's also a Louis Garneau, but again, not gore tex. How breathable are these "other" fabrics, and are they wind/water resistant or water proof?

I guess I could settle on black, but would prefer to be slightly more visible.

Thanks.

Does it have to be biking specific? If not go to http://www.sierratradingpost.com/ I got a Mountain Hardwear jacket from them a few years ago that was red/black. It was Goretex. Even if you don't like what you see on that site, you may have better luck looking at other sports for a Goretex jacket.

Gore-Tex is not the only waterproof breathable fabric out there. In fact there is a lot of talk around that gore-tex isn't as breathable as they claim, and there are better fabrics out there. eVent is a fabric that i've heard people rave about.

Are you kidding? Don't you see it? For hipsters, their bike is a fashion accessory and the OP now wants the jacket to match the bike.

I will only speak from experience.

Helly Hansen makes some dope gear. So does Musto. It's kinda pricey but worth it. I used to diss HH because it was so expensive and thought it was just a raincoat for preps, but living in the Caribbean during the beginning of the rainy season without a car (I ride bicycle and motorcycle) has made me a true believer. I've already weathered one hurricane (Florence) with HH and Musto gear. This is pro-class stuff and costs accordingly.

I have this one:

Pros:
It fits close to the body, not bulky or ballooning like a poncho. It's wind and rain resistant and rolls up really small. Works good as a shell. Would work well if you layered stuff under it or you could put a big coat over it.

Cons:
It has no pockets.

Edit:

I forgot to add, HH makes their gear in lots of colors including red.

There is a HH store in Chicago:

Actually I want it to match the rest of the **** I've got. Pardon me for not being a complete fscking slob.

And, oh yes, go to hell -- thank you very much! :)

I've got a Mountain Hardwear Vertex soft shell that is incredible. It's a year or two old, but I know that when they made mine (gray), they also made it in red. Worth looking for. If you can find your size, it would probably be pretty cheap since it's a couple years old now.

That Helly Hansen jacket actually looks nice, except for the huge subliminal Helly Hansen graphic on the front.

This Ibex jacket looks good for biking, but it only comes in red OR black.

Edit: This is getting a little out of hand. Maybe we need a clothing sticky or subforum. Of course you could also post this in the right forum.

Good call on the forum redirect.

Here is the alternate bright color called "Mandarin" (not red, but you'll *definitely* be seen in it when riding in traffic):
It's in the Summer 06 collection, so you might be able to catch it on sale.

EDIT:

One last thing: It's about 1/8 - 1/4" thick and feels kind of thick and semi-rubbery like the padding in a backpack or something. Kinda cool and state of the art (seemingly so, anyway). It dries mostly with a shake.
