Any 619 fixies?

I don't see that many people on fixed here in 619 land.. more than 3 years ago, but still. Anyone ride fixed around here?

GirlAnachronism 11-02-06 05:30 PM

I'll be in 858 in the not too distant future, but 619 is becoming more and more of a memory for me...

It seems like all the good people moved to SF.

transplant 11-02-06 05:30 PM

i still have my 858 phone number... have family in the 619

GirlAnachronism 11-02-06 05:31 PM

Heh, I still have my 858 phone number too:)

It's funny. With the best weather around... a decent college for open minded folks.. we should have more, logic would say. SF is probably my favorite city from back in the day day...

I saw a good 20+ fixies at the Electric Warriors ride. They're out there.

Mr. Samsa 11-02-06 05:56 PM

Yeah we are out there Im from 619
zip 92104
We usually ride around on the spur of the moment phone call, and also at CM at Balboa park.
Like Schnee said , Electric warriors is something new that is another organized ride in SD

I was at the electric warriors ride.....I had the chrome Bianchi pista track bike...I stripped the decals off :D
Anywho
take care and keep on riding

When is the next EW ride? I'll be out of country for November's CM and December's CM.

Sorry but the next one is in November its an anti-thanksgiving ride
I guess there will be one around January..there has to be.
Or maybe if you can make it go to Midnight Ridazz in L.A
its a trek, but I hear its insanely fun!
Later

jim-bob 11-02-06 06:19 PM

Isn't 'gravityhurts' down there somewhere?

kalani79 11-02-06 06:20 PM

Still have my 619 area code, but I won't be riding in San Diego for awhile.

Not to totally hijack your thread or anything (read: I'm going to totally hijack your thread), but do any of y'all know of good shops in SD for cycling shoes? I'm getting some for Christmas, and I need to be able to try a bunch of different stuff on (leaning toward SIDI's from what I've read on here, but I'd like to see how they feel) and would rather try on and buy from the same place.

If not I'll just find what I want in NY and buy them here, but since they're going to be a gift from someone in SD it would be cool to get them there.

midnite ridazz used to be more fun when it met regularly at pioneer chicken. i know it got a little out of hand, but thats part of what was so cool about it.

kalani79 11-03-06 12:35 PM

Bicycle Warehouse carries Sidis.

Adams Ave Bikes is best.

Mr. Samsa 11-03-06 02:52 PM

I would say get SIDI's at performance online they are way cheaper.. or buy thm form any LBS
......

GirlAnachronism 11-03-06 03:10 PM

I might end up doing that, but I really need to try them on and ask a million annoying questions, and I don't wanna be that jerk who wastes an hour of someone's time at an LBS only to save $5 online. But, if there's a huge price difference I'll probably order online.

I just don't know too many bike shops in SD, and I'd like to have a big selection. Bicycle Warehouse looks rad, thanks for the suggestion!

It sits in the house nicely. I've been extended on the canoe here for 5 months. I won't lock it up on the pier, so it will be until January until I can ride it for real.

So, me and the bianchi for now. All said and done, it's nice to be home.
