nike sb and clips and straps...

anybody else got problems getting into clips and straps with nike sb's?

juvi-kyle 11-30-06 01:50 AM

What SB's are you rockin...? If you are rockin the Dunks...those are probably the worst shoes to try and get in clips because of the extra fabric over the lace holes. Try any of the Nike soccer shoes turned SB and you shouldnt have a problem.

yeah, i've got dunks.
and it's the extra fabric over the lace holes that's ****ing killing me.
it sucks that i've got new kicks that i can't use em at all cause i'm pretty much on my bike everyday of my life. sucks to be me.

and I knew you were the only one that was gonna replay. hahaha

ive got a couple pairs of sb's (p-rods, dunks, air zooms etc) and while they;re not the easiest things to ride in, its possible. sometimes you just gotta kick your foot around a bit in the clip before it sits properly.

Retem 11-30-06 02:40 AM

double gate clips is the only thing that will hold em open wide enough

the thing is the strap gets caught where the lace holes being. **** sucks.

i cant say ive ever had that particular problem. then again, i run my straps a little loose, so maybe thats why.

i tried to run them loose, but the clip was also bringing the straps down. So, either way tight or loose they get caught.

guerillaidiom 11-30-06 03:24 AM

mmmmmm, sweatshop shoes.

Smorgasgeorge 11-30-06 08:55 AM

I never had a problem with them, but Airmaxes.....forget about it.

Shiznaz 11-30-06 08:59 AM

I rode with dunks for ages. eventually the leather over the lace holes softened up and wore away a little and made it easier. The older the shoes and straps the better. I actually found the SOMA double gate toe clips made it harder because they tend to hold the strap more horizontally rather than vertically like a single gate clip meaning they get caught on that little leather ridge even more.

edit: I just had regular dunks. not sure what difference the 'sb' ones have to them...

The problem is Nike hasn't jumped on the next big thing yet.

Coming in 2008: Nike FG(Fixed Gear)
Designed for your bicycle.

(SB is designed for skateboarding, so go get on your board. Oh, and get the Consolidated SB Drunks. Way cooler.)

^^^^^ This kid's brain is going to jump out of his ear and make a run for it when he finds out where basically all bike parts are made.

rustang 11-30-06 10:47 AM

or where 90% of all shoes are made.

mmmmmmm, quality, low-priced shoes.

If you're calling SB Dunks "low priced shoes" there is something wrong with you.

So...what kind of shoes do you rock? Lets see the goods.

k3nho 11-30-06 08:18 PM

if you could somehow glue or sew down the front edge of that finicky leather piece on the dunks, the problem would be solved. . . .

SB's are like regular dunks but with a fatter tongue, iirc. . .
