Hub/cog fitting issue please help!
Long story short I started a thread a while back and we came to the conclusion that the bike I had purchased probably was trying to fit a english threaded DA cog on a italian threaded Zeus track hub. So I ordered an EAI cog and lockring as advised by a few of you guys. I greased up the cog, and cleaned the threads on the hub and tried the first fitting today but it only seems to screw on freely about as far as the DA cog does and doesnt go any further. At least I didnt try to make it go any further because I didnt want to mess any threads up. I took the cog off and just tried the EAI lockring and that fits perfectly. So my question is...what do I try next? I plan on going to my LBS tomorrow and having them check it out since they also advised me to get an italian threaded cog/lr. Does this sound like my threads are stripped on the hub?

Should be fairly easy to see / feel if the threads are stripped (esp. if you have another hub to use for comparison. If the threads are shorter / more silvery / almost missing / surrounded by lots of silvery threads of metal, it's stripped.
I didn't EAI even make an italian threaded cog... mine are definitely english, but don't have any indications thereof.
