Bianchi is heading in the right direction. Wish I could just buy the frameset, cranks and wheels.

colnago57 12-16-06 06:27 PM

I want that frame and the cranks. I'd build my own wheels. Why couldn't you have posted this earlier? then I may have been able to get one under my tree.

number18 12-16-06 06:45 PM

um, you can. they also sell the frame separate-like.

onetwentyeight 12-16-06 06:51 PM

the traditionalist in me is not sure how to feel about the strange bb...

number18 12-16-06 06:57 PM

yeah, whoa, what's the deal with that? "external"? I looked at the documentation and I still have no idea how that works...

I imagine the bb shell is compatible with any properly-threaded BB, though, so that wouldn't be an issue with just the frameset.

Learn_not2burn 12-16-06 08:24 PM

External is the biz my friend. I used to be against it too until running it on my road bike. All positives (stiffer, less bearing wear, etc.) except for a few mm wider Q factor which isn't enough to really give any appreciable power loss.

Grimlock 12-16-06 08:30 PM

As far as I can ascertain, Bianchi is not selling the frameset seperately in Canada.

jeac 12-16-06 09:03 PM

that ****s hoooooooooooooot

veggiemafia 12-16-06 10:50 PM

I'm actually thinking of buying one and taking up the fine hobby of track racing.

DoshKel loves his.

But yeah, that steez looks really sexy with no decals.

shogun17 12-16-06 10:54 PM

Does anyone know where to get the Truvativ Omnium cranks? I want to try polishing the decals off an 07 veloce crankset.

trons 12-17-06 12:00 AM

is anything different other than the paintjob? (frame & fork)

Crankset and BB for one (like mentioned earlier).

Different wheelset than the 2005 (not '06 I believe) model as well. $100 less to top it off.

Thats it I think.

Maybe Bianach is though...check your LBS.

barba 12-17-06 12:11 PM

External BBs are actually pretty cool and are a nice bit of engineering, IMO. Nice looking bike.

Serendipper 12-17-06 01:01 PM

Volos wheels!

rhelfor 12-17-06 01:11 PM

Why do the specs list SRAM cranks? They are clearly Truvativ Ominiums in the picture. Which is correct for the '07?

Because they are one in the same.

WakeUpOnFire 12-17-06 03:34 PM

SRAM = truvativ. sort of.

rhelfor 12-17-06 03:40 PM

Yes, I see that SRAM bought out Truvativ a couple years ago. Thx.

genericbikedude 12-17-06 04:52 PM

the new concept is really, really ugly. Bring back celeste!

AfterThisNap 12-17-06 06:29 PM

+whatever for the external BB interface. Though it may be ugly as sin to some, it is just a superior way to transfer power to the rear wheel. I sort of hate the truvativ/fsa interpretation though. With no pinch bolt to clamp to the humongous spindle, the non-drive cranks work themselves loose sometimes. While regular checking of the 8mm bolt remedys this, I'm really damn lazy and have chucked a crankarm on two different bikes in the last year.
Shimano has it going on.
