IRO Angus frame clearance q?
Hello all,
Considering getting an Angus as a commuter fixed. I will want to fit my cyclocross tires on it for those snowy/muddy days. IRO states it will clear 28C but does anyone know if the angus frame will clear 700x32C tires? Thanks in advance Marc |
The Angus accepts only up to 700x28c tires
|
I run 28's and the front is pretty tight already...
|
www.irocycle.com says the 28 is max
|
the jamie roy will take 37's
|
hey marc, i understand your concern. the jamie roy and the rob roy have better clearance. 32s will fit fine on both, with fenders. the angus is sleek, and the price of tires is negligible, but get the bike you want to commute on.
|
Great, thanks all.
baxtefer and dirtyphotons ... thanks that was going to be my next question since the angus was now out |
Clearance? I don't see anything about it on the site...do you have a link?

He was referring to tire clearance.

Have you considered the Raleigh One Way? It's a SS/FG commuter that's well setup for the task. It comes with 35c tires AND fenders and looks like it could go up to 40+ with the fenders and even bigger if you take the fenders off.

phew, no one made a post about TONY. oh........ dammit.
|
I run schwalbe marathon racer 700x30 tires. there is enough room for them but i couldn't fit anything wider.
i guess it depends on how wide the 32's actually are. |
Stieg,
I know about the Raleigh ... I'm realy liking the geometry/look of IRO bikes. I actually just ordered the Jamie Roy frameset ... building it up a a sleek cyclocross/commuter beast ... can't reveal everything yet. I'll keep you all updated on the buildup progress ... it's all a parts waiting game now ... hopefully I won't have to wait too long to build up the wheels. |
