chain problems

i was just recently riding my fixie, and my pedal skipped on the ground on a turn. the problem is that my chain fell off. so i walked all the way home. my question is, how do you go about putting the chain back on?

barba 12-19-06 12:11 PM

Loosen the rear wheel, put the chain back on.

freeskihp 12-19-06 12:14 PM

hmm... your gonna need to ship it to the manufacturer of the chain and then to the maker of the wheel, its a long proscess but it is worth it

freeskihp 12-19-06 12:17 PM

I was joking, just loosen the wheel, throw it back on and your good to go

no way! wrong!

all he needs is a new crankset, perferably one of the "cottered" kind the kids are talking about these days.

why make him go through all that trouble?

joshuastar 12-19-06 12:18 PM

dang. too little...too late. stupid job.

fastfixie 12-19-06 12:20 PM

^^^ that seems like a great idea, my one-piece crank is getting kind of beat up.

... are you serious?

jeac 12-19-06 12:40 PM

you're screwed big time!

andypants 12-19-06 12:44 PM

jk jk jk jk jk jk jk jk jk jk

why do people make these accounts that are not at all funny?

lvleph 12-19-06 01:26 PM

You could always undo the master link, but that is more work than just losening the back wheel.

Hocam 12-19-06 03:13 PM

Nope, need a new chain. Once they touch the ground you can't use em any more.

If this guy is for real, you guys probably just made him commit suicide.

I love you guys :*

dustinlikewhat 12-19-06 03:19 PM

the chain was probably on backwards anyways.

mander 12-19-06 03:21 PM

You guys are being had.

I had this happen to me once, it was quite scary since I was going through traffic. Anyway, I consulted a bike mechanic friend of mine and he said the only way to get the chain back on with the correct chainline is to relace your wheel to a Deep V. Blue, gold, pink will suffice. Non machined only.

Safe Riding!
