Which one of you was it in colorado on the snow?

Orange fixie in the snow, backpack, with some pretty low ass bullhorns crossing colfax avenue in denver, co yesterday. Your picture's in today's metro news here in NYC. Just letting you know.

TN! 12-21-06 10:43 AM

freeskihp 12-21-06 10:49 AM

riding fixed in the snow would be so much fun...

bonechilling 12-21-06 11:56 AM

I think it's an orange Windsor "The Hour." Cool picture,
and a seriously dedicated cyclist.

riding anything in the snow is hell ass fun. all those drivers are probably stressing out and hating the snow, but that guy is probably having a blast. bikes are so cool.

vinnydelnegro 12-21-06 12:39 PM

cool...wish i could claim to know the guy, but i don't. for what it's worth (not much) i was riding my geared mountain bike yesterday. the ride to work was fine except for the wind and hard ass blowing snow (ow! my eyeballs!), but the ride home was so deep, i had to get off and push for long distances. at one point i spun out and hit my shin on my pedal pretty hard. i got home and was shocked to see my shin just covered in blood. woulda been pretty hard core if it hadn't been followed my girly screaming and whining.

seely 12-21-06 12:42 PM

That is badass... I had a similar ride a few weeks ago when I was downtown at ye olde brewery with our Cannondale rep, and looked outside only to discover that the worst ice storm in 10 years had set in. Some of the "worst" rides become some of the most fun/memorable.

G0balistik 12-21-06 02:00 PM

It snowed about two feet here in boulderlast night, there was no way I was riding in it. Maybe If I had a junker to fool around on,maybe. I did take a walk around 1am and it was cool to see everyone wandering around the streets.

i commuted for about 18 weeks from the boston harbor to cambridge street - got snowed on all the time. was on a mtn bike and used to slide off the damb sidewalks (when i had to get up on them to go around the cars hugging curbs) into the cars. turning the tables on who hit whom, if you will...

it's awesome.

dmc 12-21-06 02:38 PM

im stuck in atlanta... originally supposed to fly back home to denver this morning, it must be a real mess because they cant get me out until dec 28.

soyboy 12-21-06 02:43 PM

riding in snow is way more fun than riding in the rain

w/ respect to this thread, my first thought upon reading your first sentence was, 'dude, it ain' snowin in atlanta!'

when in doubt...read.

best of luck. safe travels.

Gurgus 12-21-06 02:55 PM

Living in Canada you'd think I'd have had a chance by now to ride my first fixed conversion in the snow by now. No dice. No snow here yet. Damn, I wanna ride my fix in the snow!

I tried to ride home from my GF's place, about a mile from where that picture was probably taken, and my gatorskins were having none of it. By the time I dragged my bike home, so much snow had built up on my front hub that it looked like a disc.
Kinda cool, but effin' miserable. Not even the buses are running right now. The smartest people are on cross-country skis in the middle of the streets.

borrachobandito 12-21-06 06:39 PM

I was able to make it home last night after work without a single mishap untill I got right in front of my house and spilled hard an my as*. This morning was impossible with gatorskins but by the middle of the day most of the streets where just brown slush. Kinda nuts, this kind of weather doesn't happen that often.

From the thread title I thought this was going to be about some forum member being called out for being high on cocaine. Nice pic though.

cointelpro 12-21-06 11:47 PM

Got dat snow...man?
