i think he was referring more to the trendiness of the company. i actually think alien workshop decks feel pretty nice. lotsa pop.

I guess I should have clarified. Everyone made fun of people with aliens.

I was never super into them, but I have to say, when Don Pendelton was rocking the art direction, some of the graphics were really nice. IMO, he's being waisted at element.

Man a few years ago, my friend hit up this thrift store and got me an original, nearly new version of that jacket. I still bust it out for special occastions. It made me bummed that I got rid of my rat bones one.

lvleph 12-21-06 03:06 PM

Skate TV shows on Nickalodean sometimes. lol

As soon as the masses are offered easy entry into what was an exclusive subculture there's a backlash. Happens all the time.

Hmm, my very first deck was a Kamikaze from cotco or somethin'.
Hmm, ive had (in no order) psycho stick, a rob roskopp, tony hawk, lance mountain, tommy guerrero, mark gonzalez, mini cab, Natas Kapas, and some others I cant recall.

I think my favorites were the TG and MG decks.

pinkrobe 12-21-06 05:21 PM

First deck - G&S Billy Ruff "Joker/Puppetmaster" [?] with Tracker trucks and Kryptonics wheels. I think I still have it...
It's also my last deck. I sucked so bad at skating, I rode my bike instead.

loaf 12-21-06 05:30 PM

aww damn, now I'm going to dust off the old deck and go kill the streets!

shark! 12-21-06 05:32 PM

first deck: maple matchhead (CANT FIND A PICTURE ANYWHERE??? ANY HELP??)

this was also my favorite deck. i believe i rode it until there was about an inch or 2 missing from the tail and nose.

also, any baker deck has always satisfied me.

lol...actually sr. old man when I was skating, boards would get torn up relatively quickly. In my day, they were lighter and more destructable, especially how we slid on the graphics....

I was a bit torn when i realized that I would have to start scratching up my first board to do certain ****, but you get over that. I wasn't as much into my favorite board graphics as I was my favorite sneakers or even my favorite trucks

ryand 12-21-06 07:15 PM

Yeah, but I'm sure you had a favorite company.
You can't say they are all the same.
Different wood, different concave, different shape.

The graphics are just a bonus.

popluhv 12-21-06 07:15 PM

New Skool "Dork" slick w/tracker B-52 trucks and, I believe, 46mm wheels.

favourite: Zoo York, when they had the really angular sides.
(Skates on Haaight 8ply, a close second)

1st deck was a generic deck that came with my first complete. My first real deck was an Element Featherlight circa 2000.

My favorite deck was the Krooked Sweatpants deck I used to have, but I've really been into the 7.75" Real Pricepoint I've been riding.

Dannihilator 12-21-06 07:45 PM

Never skated.
