Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: 2007 Trek 6000, others

Worst:

Getting a collapsed lung while sitting at my desk and having to spend 3 nights in the hospital and a month recovering, crashing twice and breaking my hand and getting many stitches, being bikeless as a result. Boredom, angst, loneliness, etc. like every other human.

Best:

Dating an awesome new girl who I met when she drove me to the ER after the first wreck (we're still together, I'm very optimistic), getting a good job in loss prevention for a big dept. store, going to geology field school (8 week camping trip out west with the University), getting a check from the insurance co. for a new bike, being alive and happy at the end of the december.

Best: Meeting a girl I truely loved, having lots of great sex, and not having a job/school and ****ing off for the year.

Worst: losing a best friend because I fell in love with his girlfriend, finding out the girl I fell in love with didn't have the same feelings, having to move to NC, and getting in trouble with the law (court date in January). Ugh.

It was a rough/emotional year.

Oh, I thought this was bike **** only. Then the worst was definitely losing two of my uncles to cancer. And the best would be summer vacation. Best time of my life.

Best: Making this really delicious chili.

Worst: Realizing I made the chili when I was drunk, so it could never be duplicated.
