Moustache Handlebars... Ends Facing Forward?

I am really considering the Moustache bars from Soma. I like them alot, mainly for all the hand positions and they look different from what everyone else is using.

I was wondering if any uses them backward... ends facing forward. Anyone?

I also would like to know if handlebars are made to sustain force evenly... as in the case of flipping them when cut as in bullhorns. Something I want to consider if I am going to be flipping any bars in the future.

I got the Soma moustache bars for Christmas, but I was just waiting to polish them before i put them on. I thought about putting them on backwards too, but it might just look too goofy.

Yes do it! Hot. I totally would if I didn't NEED the drops.

Go ahead and try mounting them upside down - that is, with the ends curving upward. But you're going to find out that gripping the forward curve of the bar is uncomfortable when it's mounted that way.

just get bullhorns.

Yeah, seems to me that bullhorns would be your best bet; I'd be worried about hitting my knees on the bends.

seen it tried, and at least on this frame, there was a problem with hitting your knees if you were out of the saddle. skidding was not even an option. you couldn't turn too sharply or the bends would hit the top tube. and the ends weren't quite parralel, so it felt funny with your hands out, the only good place was in closer to the stem.

You could call them Dali Bars!

Thanks guys... I can always count on getting a good laugh in along with good advice.

(Dali Bars - LOL)

You gotta admit though, they would look cool! But I see the knee thing. They still look cool the intended way too.
