I've got one big one, this summer I'm going to take my two weeks off of school and go stealth camping/bike touring for as far/long as I can....on the fixie with homebuilt trailer.

Oh and I decided not to drink until my birthday (feb. 9) Just to make sure I can do it

I have this old frame down in the base, and i might trow in a deal on this frame

I laced up a few of these before Christmas, and maybe now is the time
to tension them up and try to move them.

And here's what I'm building up now. $180 in parts for a pair (with DT rev spokes). That ain't bad!

But what I'm really looking for is a fixie with a flip/flop rear. God would I build her the most beautiful wheels in the world

working on welding a permanent bike cart using two old schwinns (that tubing is so ****ing thick if you've ever cut one open!) - one for the top tube/fork/headset as the joint to connect the bike to the cart, which is a narrow cart on 26" wheels, made out of thick canvas like you see behind the counter as post offices.

gonna be sick.

Right now, I am trying to find the smallest size (48-
50cm, I'm short) and cheapest old track frame that
money can buy, as long as it's not rusted or bent.
I have enough spare parts laying around to build up
an about-town beater bike. 2006 was the year I
totally "blinged" out my Bridgestone, so this year I
am going budget.

Vanilla, Baylis, Sachs? Building a time machine to zip back to the late 80s for a Konno-built 3rensho?

My plan is a dinglespeed, components as follows:

Mountain Bike Build

Frame: Voodoo Dambala 19"
Fork: White Brothers 29er
Brakes: Avid Road BB7
Brake Levers: Shimano Dura Ace level
Cranks/Freewheel: White Industries Dingle
Hubs: White Industries Mountain
Rims: Stan's ZTR
Spokes: DT Straight Gauge
Bottom Bracket: Phil Wood 113 ISO taper
Chain: Cheapie
Headset: Duh, King
Stem: Thomson Elite 110mm 105 deg.
Seatpost: Thomson Elite Straight
Saddle: Brooks Flyer
Handlebars: WTB Dirt Drops or On One Midge (can't decide whether I want shallow or deep(er)
Bartape: Bontrager Gel
Tires: Stan's The Crow

I'm a complete wuss and can't handle the trails, I might look into geared with bar ends.

12xu- just keep your gearing LOW. my 1x1's at 36x18 and that's a bit high, even for Illinois' wimpy hills. i'm prolly going to switch to a 32 up front.

I think 2:1 is a pretty typical ratio for the trails, and we've got some serious trails around here.
