I thought home trainers are not meant for road riding and are more prone to puncture / damage ?

hahaha, I'm just writing a thread on that ayla holland brake issue out in portland last year, i'm trying to find out if in deed it became state law that you don't need to have a 'separate' brake on a fixie. So far the senate bill says 'fixed gear bikes are exempt from needing a separate brake'

fun is fun... yah but at what cost ?

btw are home trainers as durable as a road tire? Regardless of what I heard about home trainers not being safe, I read that they are supposed to be more durable than using cheap slicks on the trainer wheel. If that's the case then the 2 seem to contradict each other being safe / durable.

which is it?

Well not to get so OT but i think the biggest differences between hometrainers and real road tires are puncture resistance and grip. The hometrainers are meant to be very durable for use on a trainer and hold up well to the heat created by running on a trainer. Theyre harder and that basically means theyre good for skidding and last quite awhile I've heard.
Probably in a wet environment they dont grip well at all.
Not to mention the lack of nails, glass and other sharp objects encountered running on a trainer ....so not so puncture resistant. Im guessing on that last point.

I broke my left shoulder last month too! I was riding on the street in Berlin, Germany. Are you able to hold your handlebars yet? I can almost do it, it will probably take one more week or two. I've been riding on the trainer in the mean time.

They (selle san marco) are calling it the Concor Sette Zero. Most shops should be able to order it from QBC @ $75.

I have had a few through the shop I work at. Very close in shape / padding to the older (pre-concor-lite) concor saddles of late 80ies. The cover is slightly textured like suede and has an odd "spider web" stitched design.
