Might I suggest we lock down a color for each frame? Seriously there are some wildly varying color picks here so I wonder if everyone is in for a given color pick.
We need to start 2 more threads, one for the Mark V and one for the Angus, with several color options. Take the votes from those threads and pick the color....then once there is a color selection for each frame see who wants an Angus or Mark V in that color at the given price.
Personally there is more than one color suggested that I like and would buy but there are also several (Pink and anything neon) that would be a deal breaker for me.

Then the people who are very seriously committed can com to some sort of concensus about it, via a web page or something that requires you to sign up.
I do agree that if we have a poll here people not buying will vote...so some sort of off site thing might work...but the point is we NEED to pick a color and run it by Tony to confirm his mfg can do it.

did Tony say what colors are actually possible?
Since we probably have enough people to do three or four different colors of Anguses (Angusi?) in batches of 25 and one color of Mark V.

Angi?
(if it were latin)
and yes - what is the status of discussions with Tony?
(Will he do it, how many frames minimum, which color(s), which frame(s), what else?)

MORE UPDATES, tony had proposed a new idea, what do you guys think
I was thinking about your wish list, I had an idea.
I would build you a framesets with a tubeset like the angus.
I would offer you guys a choice of 1" or 1 1/8" headtube and forks, rear
brake cablestops or not. So you could have frames with 1" forks and no
cablestops
or 1 1/8" forks and cablestops for a rear brake.
Best Regards,
Tony

Just my thoughts but if we could condense all our requests for any given frameset into one color, it seems like the price break might improve...?

I don't think it is reasonable to ask for a larger discount though. We are talking about 35% off here...that is an amazing deal IMO.
Now if I could get a deal on a build kit to go along with my frame......

personally, i think we should assign some trustworthy person to be a liason. That person can set up a paypal account, and we can send a $25? deposit to that account to show we are serious about a purchase. In the notes with the payment we can send our vote along for color, size, frame, etc. I think this is the only way we can actually say to Tony: "we want X frames" without havin to say later "Whoops.. we actually are only getting X-45 frames" because people were just talkin the talk. also, it will help keep votes straight as people will only vote once unless they send another $25 deposit and buy a second(or third, etc) frame. in which case they are welcome to another vote.

What about a compromise? I want the Angus frameset, but I would be willing to have a rear brake mount on the bike as long as there are no cable stops. I would prefer a 1" fork too, but either is okay as long as it retains the Angus geometry.

I would actually prefer a RR or JR, but I'm not getting my hopes up on that.

I definitely prefer the idea of a rear brake mount but no cable stops.
I too would also prefer a Rob Roy, but as I said in another thread,
a 50cm RR won't exist until this summer, so that counts me out.

The problem I have (and I sense others have, too) is that color is a breaking point. I'd take either frame, though the lighter Angus is preferred.
I have a couple bikes already which I like very much. For me to get another one (yay!) it would need to be what I want. I'm not in the market for just any-old bike ... I want to make the bike of my DREAMS.
Well, not exactly that *dreamy* but you know what I mean.
I'm not really picky about the color except the calls for neon and pink have me nervous (I was there in the 80's, it was ok then but I'm not going to re-live it).
My color Prefs
1) Polished metal with clearcoat (I would do A LOT to get this)
2) Flat black, middle to dark gray
3) Brown, beige, maroon, other gray, blue (not neon)
4) BRG (what the hell is with you guys and this color?), Red
So I'm not that picky but there are colors that will kill it for me. Timing is also an issue. If it's this takes a month or so to close it will be easier to convince the wife (birthday coming).

A special edition IRO just for us? a "Mangus" only available for us. That would be sweet. If Tony is willing to allow us to spec a 1" or 1 1/8" and rear brakestops or not, that's very good news. It seems that the only hold up is color. Perhaps it's just better for Tony to pick the color and maybe offer a standard white or black as a fall back. It's pretty clear that tastes very GREATLY so we'll be waiting until the cows come home for a final choice. The fact that this will be a unique limited run frame should satisfy most all of us. I would however add a unique decal and perhaps a limited edition number on each frame regardless of color choice. As for the transaction details, again lets just mimic the PF group buy. Did Tony actually say he's got a problem with that?

it would be sweet if we could choose threaded or threadless steerer tubes on the forks.(both 1") seems like it wouldnt be too hard to work out.

Blah, blah, blah...who is going to step up and figure out a color that will be acceptable to the majority of the group? I am down for about anything other than neon or pink. Grey, flat black, silver, white, olive drab, BRG, dark green, orange, slate blue, battleship blue....any of these or similar is fine with me.

I think that white or gray or bare metal would be a good default. I think that people who are all jazzed about riding a neon bike would also be willing to paint a bike. Right now there are too many options and opinions floating around, and it's getting convoluted.
If it comes down to gray Angus or Mark V (buyer's choice because there are probably 25 of each), would a bunch of people drop out?

why get it white when you can already get one in white?
i think polished metal with clearcoat is going to make the most people the happiest.
(or british racing green)
