One issue with bare metal is that it shows flaws...and in most situations when a metal item is typically painted or plated the unfinished item will cost more due to a higher reject rate during the production process. Polishing the metal also takes longer than prep and paint and would cost more.
But whatever, if clear is the color I am down for that too...

FWIW, I'm out if we chose a stock colour. I'm happy with my black angus that I currently beat to piss on a daily basis. My interest in this was having a limited run of internet bike dork colours.

Someone suggested letting Tony pick the color - I say go with that. All the color arguing is getting old.
And the option of a custom frame? I wish Tony had never even suggested that...

BAttleship grey was the most common non-neon color I heard bandied about. Maybe it's time for a new poll. Narrow it down to 3 popular colors, and have the genuinely interested vote on those. I'll stay out of it, because although I'm interested in a Mark V in a non-neon color, I really don't know if I'll have the dough to build another bike in the near future. If I do feel flush enough before whatever deadline happens i MIGHT buy in.

Just wanted to let you guys know, there are probably more people like me who haven't said anything yet but are very interested. I'll more than likely be down unless its an extreme color.
Thanks to the people setting this thing up.

has anyone looked to see whether the angus people primarily prefer one color, while the mark v people prefer another? it SEEMS to me that a gray/black/white/brg angus and a pink/lime/beige mark v would satisfy a lot of people... am i the only person that wonders about a 1 1/8th threadless angus? that tony email was a goddamn can of worms. oh and put me down for another frame.
name billypilgrim's main squeeze
size 50
frame angus
color baby blue/brg/black

If the BFFGSS modele speciale came with cool stuff like fender eyelets, etc, you might rustle up some more interest from people like myself that already have nice track bikes but might be interested in a foul-weather beater. While I'm more interested in a Rob Roy than anything, if the price is right and it can take fenders and brakes, I might bite.

^definately, no rush at all seeing as we are just getting this thing off the ground, if everythig goes right and all orders are placed by jan. 31 people won't be getting their frames until like the end of feb./middle or march in the best case scenario

So, is there a reason we couldn't pick a custom color for at least 25 of each frame and the rest could be stock colors? It seems like the people who really want a custom color don't really care what custom color it is, and the people who want a more subdued or "normal" color would be perfectly happy with a stock color. I think it would be easy to agree on a custom color if people could choose a stock color if they didn't like what everyone else picked.

I vote to have the frames shipped without a finish. This way, I can take it to my choice of frame painter/powdercoater and not have to read through 12 pages of THE SAME COLOR DEBATE and still not have a clue what the heck is going on. Jesus.
