I would be really excited about a bright green or pink angus, if mark v's are what folks want though I'd be ok with that too. could we mix which framesets we're getting so folx who want mark v's can get those and people who want an angus can get that?

i am already commiting myself to two of either frames, one for me and one for my wife, I personally think that they should be bare steel so that we can all get our own ******** paint jobs, also I live in New York city, I would take a china town bus out to philly and meet up with people who were gonna pack and send out the bikes, hell i'd bring tools and a work stand and build the things for anyone who wanted me to......so yeah I want two of them

I'd be down for a neon green/mint green/orange mark v at the current price. I don't want anything unpainted.

if someone has a website that they can throw a poll on, that would be cool so that we're not cluttering up the forum with votes on, frame type, color, and other assorted things..

but my vote goes for primer, white or neon.

So... I have been talking to tony and it seems we have 4 options shipping wise:

ship them all out seperately
ship 2 to a box
ship them out all as freight to one place and they would get shipped from there
have the philly kids pick them up and ship 'em out

custom color seems to be fine and I'm down with a neon somthing or anything thats not white, black, or orange

it seems as if we are leaning twords the angus which would be *****in

I'll keep posting with more updates and price updates with the different methods of shipping

I'm down, but i vote for a subdued color. Clear coated bare metal would be cool.

I remember someone posting their paintless Cyclocross bike,
rust and all, and I thought that looked seriously hot. However,
I think it'd be stupid to pay full price and not get it painted,
because you're likely going to be paying for powder-coating
later. So would a bare metal IRO cost any less?

i may be in the minority, but i'd go for it even if it didn't. and to be clear i'm not asking that EVERYONE go bare metal or clearcoat or whatever, just that those of us who don't want a bike that says HEY LOOK AT ME!!@! can opt out and still get a cheap frame.

Like I posted before, a polished bare metal with clear. In the example Omega I posted the frame was polished and the fillet brazing material exposed with a clear coat on top. I don't think you want a raw steel frame without some sort of protection. Decals can be place on top of the clear so folks can go naked all they want. I doubt you'll see any others like theses out there. As for angus vs. Mark V, I thought the angus was also threadless? The example they have online appears threadless with a straightblade fork. I definetly want the straight bladed fork and threadless. Still leaning towards the Mark V.

Good, maybe you can direct traffic with it.

I would need to know the specifics on how shipping would work before I made a commitment. I certainly would NOT be in if it were neon.

The white, coated steele, battleship grey or black gets my vote, color wise. Also: are we talking frame & fork, or just frame?

the only thing that i didn't like about my old mark v was that the seat tube seemed a bit too short in relation to the top tube. going with the larger size would mean using an unusually short stem. oh well, good luck to those of you who can get a good fit.

angus comes with a threaded fork. little rake, oval tubes. with a different fork, it can easily be run threadless. or as i said, there's an adapter. i realize it's more cash, which sort of negates the purpose of the group buy, but the angus is the only one that can be run either-or

Well the discounted amount relates to the complete set frame and fork. At least that's how it's sold on the site.

Just another quick thought. It seems like we are trying to reinvent the wheel here. BFs already has had a successfull group purchase with Pedal Force. Has Tony seen the thread? It seems the easiest thing to do is copy the process. Set up a sign-up page, set group buy deadline, collect deposits, make framesets, collect remaining money, ship frames to buyers (not some central location). The price should inlcude all shipping and handling, no third parties. Also, it seems that we have AT LEAST 50 takers. Perhaps another price point if we reach 75 or 100 framesets by the group buy closout date?
