So I guess this is the last day. I got an email earlier from Tony saying that before he processes the orders to taiwan, hes going to make a spreadsheet of our orders to confirm them all with us. Did anyone else get this email too when you asked him for changes?

Nuts!!! I really WANT to get one of these, but I really don't NEED one. Except for being black it wouldn't be particularly different from my Rush, but it's a great bargain on a great frame. I can't resist a good bargain, and I can't resist the urge to add to my stable.
or can i? I'll be struggling with this question all day unless I break, and plunk down the fifty before the day is out.
nuts...

just for reference, the first recorded order number we have is #157 and about 10-15 people had signed up prior to that number being dropped.
so, round it out, and that gives us close to 400 Special Edition frames ordered. not bad!

Well, that's assuming that no one else bought anything
from IRO during the span of time that the frames were
for sale. I think it's really hard to speculate, but it seems
safe to assume it's somewhere in the 300-400 range.
Maybe Tony will let us know now that that deal is done.

does anyone know about where the frames are made, how the people are treated? i try to stay clear of asian made stuff for the simple fact that I just dont know, but this deal is worth investigating. i sent over an email to IRO but im sure they are swamped over there.

yes there at a grade A taiwan facotory (the name is escaping me) but they are well trained and well payed, it is one of the better factories used by surly, kogswell, rivendell and the such, much better than schwinns dynos and magnas
/edit/ the facotry is maxway they also make jamis, on one, some of thr ritchey frames, urbane and such.

when it comes to bikes, i like to think in a purpose-oriented way. so my next bike is something geared for long rides that can do double duty as a light tourer. and i'm sticking to it! except for that one time when i bought a track frame, perhaps superfluously. but i *really* couldn't pass it up.
