****ed up, ain't it? who ever heard of sXe and death metal together?

It's because of metalcore and bands like throwdown, 18v, etc.

I'm way out of touch on the TC scene, or what's left of it, i pretty much haven't been to a 'scene' show in years, but for a while, a lot of the metalcore/hardcore scene here was straightedge because it was in the in thing. Bands like Nehemiah(mostly edge members), Too Pure To Die, xDevastatorx, etc. Lots of the kids were never into the fast, punk style straightedge bands, but rather then metal influenced beat-down hardcore and the 'hardcore' bands that could have been called metalbands, except they wore tight pants and had short hair.

That would be my explanation, but I'm surprised it's still going on. Last I heard, tons of the edge kids in the cities had sold out.

very few hardcore shows are worth going to, even bands I used to get super excited about.

But I will always go to a Shai Hulud show. Great guys, even greater(greatest?) band.

savier's right, just about all of downtown as well as salmon and ankeny (where people are more susceptible to run stop signs because the hills are mellow / long) are the hot spots as far as i know. ladd's addition also had a cop sting a little while back, but that wasn't fixed gear centered, it was just cyclist centered.

anyways, the way things are looking, it's going to be written into law that you can go brakeless as long as you can stop within 15 feet while doing 10mph. 3 out of 4 votes passed the bill with the last 1 waiting... i just hope they vote before i have my first court appearance.

bzzzzzzt, wrong. i'm talking about a show where no one's sXe, but you're not allowed to drink, and half the people had long hair and deicide shirts.
