Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I've been riding it for about a week and I think I'm in love.

The hour? Looks pretty hot, love the red. Mind if I ask what size (looks like 56?) and how tall you are?

The hour = Fuji track = pretty well-respected bike. Don't be so defensive, son.

that was pretty much my reaction with my fuji track (same as the hour). having a cheap conversion with incredibly slack angles was making me steer away from my fixed and i was spending time on the cross bike instead.
bought a fuji track and was unable to stop riding it all that night until a sketchy descent caused me to strip the rather junky hub. now i'm rocking a surly in the rear and the love continues

the nice thing about a cheap bike:

it is just as fast as a Keirin bike or Pista Concept in the street. The only difference is the passion of the rider.

Funny you should say that. EWWhite from Chi told me the same thing on the phone Friday.

He rides a $9000 Corima on Mavic IO, and says it's just as fast as his old beater bike on the track.

Track bike efficency is about 90% mental, 9% aerodynamics, and 1% bull****.

Cheap? Thats not a cheap fixed gear! This is one. Heh, its so flexy they fender mounts scrape while mashing, but I could pretty much blow it up and it'll be fine.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The size is a 58 and I'm around 6 feet tall. My Bianchi road bike is a 61 and fits good, maybe a biiiiit too big, so this frame feels just right. I love the geometry, its really responsive and a blast to ride.

I just got the gray windsor a few days ago...and went for a short ride with some rolling hills...30 mins later I knew the bike is due brakes...the front brake is on and the rear would be ready if I was down with zip tie cable guides...

The wheels needed a small true and I sub-ed the quil for a cheap forte one I got for 12 bucks...

no need to cover up the decals for me...f-m if they hate..

I love my 'hour'... close to the best 300 bucks I've ever spent . Seriously, it's my commuter/grocery getter/around town bike and it's a blast.

BTW 165, what's wrong with posting pics of their bikes?

nothing at all - there is a thread for bike pics that people check regularly. I am stoked to see more bikes, trust me. But why not use the thread that exists already? The OP's post is great - I couldnt agree more. Just didn't want a second thread of bike pics.
No harm and no offense intended.

another one of these? yeah, I live for the "us vs. them" mentality. Hopefully, this is a joke. Otherwise, I am not sure why you have the idea that Mods are here to make your life difficult. PM me if something is bugging you - I'll see what I can do to help.
Thanks~

Coming over from the Roadie forum, and trying to find ideas and inspiration for building a SS/FG, I've found that trying to sift thru the original PIC thread is darn near impossible.
You get one bike pic and then 6 pages of comments and back and forth. I'd really like to see a thread of JUST pics. Mis dos centavos
