Ugh, why messenger bags? What if one of your hastily placed picks falls out and takes a few followers down? Seems like an unnecessary addition to the event...

1.I thought bullhorns started at the velodrome?
2.That girl looks faster than everbody. I guess that's why they never allowed mixed racing.
3. You can spot the messengers. They are the ones with eyes bulging and mouth wide open in a look of terror.
I have so much respect for the six day racers. That's some serious discipline. I wonder how they would do at Monstertrack?

You can really get an idea of what was going on from looking at the "pool's" photos. I recommend paying attention to the naked in the sauna part of the trip. It's really what is missing from american alleycats. Although the privaite limo from the airport and drinking beer on the street is also very important.

Yes, a bar in the infield, selling beer in GLASS... the stadium was the same as any other stadium -- pizza, hot dog, and hamburger vendors, beer in plastic bottles in the cheap seats, but there was also a fondue restaurant and a fancy italian fusion joint. Fondue, while entirely delicious smells foul in large quantities. It also has the amazing property of smelling exactly the same on the other end.

At the recent Burnaby 6 Day series up here in BC they held a series of *Special* Courier races...
They were variations on standard track events like a 20 lap scratch race with a Le mans start (we had to run half way around the track apron before hopping on our bikes) and beer primes, a miss-and-out complete with headbutting and basically full contact and finally they 'surprised' us with a final event after all of us had been sitting in the infield beer garden for a while. It was a wonderful australian pursuit, just the thing after you've eaten a big meal of pasta and had a few beers.
We even organised a trackstand comp that a few of the sprinters took part in (and lost- haha!)
My photos are here
The response from the *serious* racers was amazing... they loved us (and our no-handed antics) and have actively encouraged us to keep coming out as well as asking for suggestions for further events.
