My Zieleman!
Sorry, I never post here, but todat I picked up this Original Zieleman type special. Very rare because Ko Zieleman only made a few frames back when he built frames. He is now retired. Chrome is in reasonable condition. The fork is a chromed twin plate design!
I'm so thrilled!

Yes it's a short black 3t mutant with black 3t mutant drops.
Just so you know: I bought it like this. The ad said it was original, but i'd already seen that the stem and drops were modern. I'm not sure if i'm going to ride it ( fork is not drilled for brake and I refuse to ride brakeless on the street) or put it up on ebay.
it also has a weird combo of a Campy record rear hub and shimano front both 28 hole laced to Mavic reflex clinchers. The crankset is Sugino track or so I think. It is stamped S with a crown above it. Anyone know the brand?
As for Mr. Zieleman. He was a low volume high quality framebuilder in Amsterdam who built most of his bikes during the sixties and seventees. If you really want to know, as Lotek, he's the Zieleman expert.

keep it to ride on the track ~!
or, since you're in netherlands, i think it'd be very appropriate to build a coaster braked rear wheel
or even a sachs duomatic, which come in 28h and might not b so hard to find where you are

About Ko Zieleman,
His father (also Ko Zieleman) started building frames in Amsterdam in I'd say the late 30's
early 1940s. Not sure when Ko (junior) started building.
Ko has a small shop in Amsterdam (currently being run by his son in law) and built mostly
custom frames. He is reported to have built bikes for Hennie Kupier and other Dutch champions
which were rebranded to whatever bike the pro was riding.
Zieleman was never a widely known dutch brand like RIH, he imported 235 bikes to the US in the 70's and
early 80's, most going through McLean Bicycles in McLean Va.
He was a very opinionated builder, didn't think much of lightweight bikes (thought they would
just break sooner, remember these were built to ride dobbles), or untried geometries.
Ko was known to mix tubes (columbus and reynolds) based on the needs of the rider,
it's not uncommon to find columbus fork blades on a reynolds frame.
Ko Retired as a builder in the mid to late 80's.
Very nice find, I recently imported a Type Special (mid 70's) road frame which I've
yet to build up.
