Suggestions? I have seen some people rocking a smaller thermo of some type that has a carabiner welded onto it, but have yet to find anyone who knows what brand it is or where I can find one.

I got mine at my local Sports store for like 10 dollars.

Um.... no.... I'm talking about a stainless steel one that has to be unscrewed to drink from. The idea for me is to get something to carry my coffee in on my bike.

I have the second one on the page moki posted. It's the bomb. Give it a half turn and sip away. Even with it open, it isn't likely to spill much if you hit some rough pavement.

Got it at Goodwill for $2. The only time it has ever leaked is when I first got it and forgot to seal it firmly enough. I just throw it in my bag. Coffee stays hot all day (not that it usually lasts more than a few hours).

they got those in portland. new leaf carried it for about a week until they sold out. contact new leaf to see when they order new ones in. only downside is that its small, 12 oz if you're lucky. the carabiner is for show if the seal is good on any other thermos since you can just throw it into your bag.

You want a Thermos (the brand name) Nissan (not the car maker) bottle. I love their Backpack Bottle. Check out this thread for supporting opinions. It will keep your beverage hot or cold for hours, and it even fits a bottle cage with minor modifications.

I've seen a few, but generally not with carabiners; Nissan is generally regarded as the best thermos. A few folks on Velo have either handlebar mounted cages, or regular cages to carrry them.

I find that if 14oz is adequate then this mug is the PERFECT bike mug. The top just screws into the mug so drinking is just a matter of unscrewing the top a quarter turn and sipping [slowly! beverages stay quite hot for the first couple hours] When you're done sipping, you can just screw the lid tight and it is completely leak proof [toss it in a backpack with my laptop leakproof]. It's dimensions are very convenient, it fits perfectly in my bottle cage [the little rubber part in the middle creates enough friction that it doesn't slide out while I ride] And at the end of the day, I usually clip the empty mug to my backpack with the supplied carabiner. LOL I know I sound a little too enthusiastic about a mug but it's been great! The problems I can see with it are that the gaskets that keep it insulated are very hard to clean, so coffee with dairy creamer or a pungent beverage may be hard to get out of the thermos. Not a problem if you're drinking tea and/or wash the mug daily.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but there's one that velo orange sells and it's absolutely perfect for traveling by bike. There's no annoying handle to get in the way and the leather bit they sell with it allows for enough gription. Also, when you unscrew the top, the liquid won't pour out all over you. You have to press a button on top to get yr warm stuff out and you can use the little lid as a cup. If you're one of those types who doesn't have bottle cage bosses (why not?!), you can throw it in your bag and it will *definitely* not leak due to the sealing effect of the inner button in combination with the lid being screwed down tightly.

Starbucks sold a partially rubber-clad stainless thermos that sounds like what you are looking for, but it's more of a mug than a thermos.

Where are you attaching the carabiner? I mean, I don't see the advantage of having it on the outside of your bag, as you won't be pouring coffee while riding in traffic. Having it securly attached to your bike is about as easy as it gets. No freak spillage on your goodies inside the bag, and no flopping around on the back.

I have a big old 750ml stainless steel thermos that i got for 10 bucks. It fits into a bottle cage, keeps my drinks warm for hours. The spout is hard to drink out of so you have to pour your drink into the little cup, but no biggie.

I am a big fan of Planetary Designs . I don't have their vacuum bottle, but I can't imagine that it is a bad bottle. I have the desk press and the double shot. I love the desk press because of its size, but the double shot is the **** because it has a stash pocket. Who doesn't love a travel coffee press with a stash pocket!

Was there yest, but did not see any in the store. Didn't ask though.
