What are these wheels worth? (NJS content)
I got these wheels on a deal with some other stuff and am considering selling them. Not sure what anyone would pay for em. Not too up on most of the prices of NJS thingys in the states. Living here its all a lot more common i know.
So the wheels...the hubs are Sansin Professionals (NJS stamp) and seem to be in perfect condition minus the dirt, grime and oil you see in the pics. As you can see it all needs a proper cleaning as its been in storage for awhile.
The spokes are NJS?..I dont know but they all have a little 'P' on the hub ends. Maybe someone can tell me.
Theyre rims are Araya Aero 4s. Seem to be well straight but have some finish worn away(NJS?).
Tires are Soyos and arent new but i just rode 10 miles on em without a problem.
Anyway, any info on this stuff would be great. I dont have a need for them really but dont want to just give them away either. I need other things for another frame.
Thanks alot.

hmmm...probably worth more than a spicy chicken combo.
"Many Sansin hubs use a a two-letter date code. The code is stamped near the center of the hub body. The first letter represents the year. We believe A is 1984, B is 1985, and so on. As with Shimano, the second letter is the month code, where A is January and L is December. Sansin and Sunshine hubs were made by the same company."

How much are you selling them for and can you weigh them out if possible? I may be interested in buying them off you, I'm in the market for a new wheelset to go with my NJS Grand Velo.

from recent ebay-watching, it seems that plain hubs or hubs laced to clinchers do far better than the same hubs laced to tubulars. that being said, with really rare stuff like this, general rules like that go out the window. also: ebay is stupid.
summary: I haven't the slightest idea. but my god, those are nice.

Sansin hubs aren't worth much. I'd guess 200-250 max for that wheelset, considering it's tubular. So, for your purposes, it's worth about 100-150 + shipping to the US.

Rear looks to be 3 cross. If so, it's not an NJS wheelbuild.
And for the record, I am not an NJS monkey, my entire stock of NJS parts consists of 2 dura ace lockrings. So don't ask me why I know that.

OMG WTF!!!!
I certainly hope someone tells you they are worth $60 billionty dollars because they are Japanese and that pattern on the hub decal matches the newest $150 tshirt design from HUF!!!!!
The serious part:
Sashae's price is about right for these, and also very fair. Unlike most of the lost halfwits that throw prices around here, you need to consider USABILITY not RARE/HOW MANY NEW MYSPACE FRIENDS WILL THIS GET ME.
The tubular aspect makes these an awesome first time/trainer wheelset for the velo, and if you decide to cut the spokes and use different rims, please let me know as I would be happy to liberate the Araya's from you for a spare set I am building.
And for the record, 4x is Keirin standard...for all you 110lbs "chrome bag 2 sizes too big" riders out there looking to compete with the men of track racing.

Sasha's pretty much dead on, as usual. The last few Sansin wheelsets that have sold on eBay have gone for about $150-$165. People aren't too familiar with the marque, so they don't inspire the same lust as DA or Superbe. That said, Sansin made Suntour hubs, so those are probably just Superbes with a different sticker on them. If you're not going to be riding tubulars, your best bet is honestly to cut the hubs out, save them for a rainy day and sell/give the tubular rims to someone who actually wants them. A pair of rims is a lot easier to ship than a wheelset.

tubulars will knock down the price of a used wheelset by $100-$200. Also, with you living in Japan, shipping will be expensive, and North American buyers will prolly have to pay duty on them.
Kinda crappy, kinda unfair, but that's the market. I doubt you'd find a buyer who'd pay more than $250 total, so you're looking at $150 tops in your pocket. For me, if the wheels were sound, I'd just ride em or save them for the track, whatever. Nice tubbies are worth more to me than the cash I'd get for them, and worth more than the effort breaking them down.
