freehub to fixed conversion?
if i were to disassemble my freehub body (shimano) as per the directions on park tools website, and rebuilt it with JB weld instead of grease, would it be safe to run as fixed
i really like my wheels and they dont make them fixed, thats the only reason i ask |
If you are willing to spend money there is the surly fixxer which replaces the freehub body and solves your problem perfectly... plus you won't have to buy a new one to switch back.oops link

thats pretty cool...thanks
but im running a 16t and a 18t on my freehub i dont think that can be done with the fixxer and with a freehub...i have perfect chainline no matter what crank/bb i use |
indeed.
If you use brakes and the worst case scenario is you chip some paint, break a couple of spokes, and end up having to buy a new freehub body. |
guess ill just have to try the fixxer
|
You could try this method
http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/arti...anula/freehub/ If you wanted to go back it would mean a new axel and free hub body. |
