D.I.D track chain ??

anyone know about this chain, good or bad ?

sashae 02-01-07 03:24 PM

They're nice, pretty much equivalent to an HKK or an Izumi.

I have one. It's good. Nice and quiet. Nothing spectacular though. Just as Sasha said.

na975 02-01-07 04:12 PM

does it have that nut/bolt lock like the izumi?

Yep. I have never seen a Keirin chain that didn't have a nut/bolt lock setup.

D.I.D makes good stuff. When i was in high school i raced motocross. Their chains were well respected in MX, and at that time it was about the best choice out there for chains. Now, i have no idea but its not junk im sure.

No.
But D.I.D.s are definitely good chains. I run them on both of my bikes. But hard to come by in Germany.

OMG WTF!!!!!!!1111one!

DID is super rare??? - I would totally buy one for $150. For reals oneoneone!. Even though I have no way of gauging anything about that chain, the mere fact that they are super-ultra rare means they should cost way more.

Can you find them at American Apparel stores?

Thanks for the reminder. Totally slept on the divorce.

Yeah, I use it on my HKK Vertex, it works a treat. Once I'd worked out that the screw went into the particular chain plate that was tapped to accept it and that the bolt was just to lock it in place it made sense. I nearly split the chain at the wrong end, and would have never worked it out. I at first thought it was just like a normal bolt that bolted through the link....can't see that would have worked for too long.

I used a DID chain when I built a project bike for Ride UK. After the project was over, I used the chain on a couple of BMX bikes and a single speed. It served me well.

I'd use it again. I also recommend the KMC K710 "Kool" chain that is available at everywhere.

businesscycles should have them in soon. when i asked john about them he said the price should fall between $40 and $50, but that's tbd.

potus 02-02-07 08:54 PM

I think DID's are the only silver NJS chain out there. I picked one up in Japan over thanksgiving for ~$15, about the same price as the HKK Vertex.
