Radial lace both sides and you'll be fine.

Maybe try a front disk brake hub with a bolt on cog?

I do not think there is a 24 hole disk front. There are 28 hole Hopes and Soul-Kozak - but I wouldn't use the latter for the tiny, tiny non drive side bearing.

you must weight 50 lbs and not ride very much

I have a 24h disc front wheel on my beater mountain bike. It's strong enough for XC riding.

Phils. Custom drilling.

Why would you use the heaviest hub on the market for a wheel otherwise designed to be light?

How much do you weigh, and how hard do you abuse your wheel with potholes and such? I weight 210 and ride a 24 on my roadie with no issues, but I don't beat on it or hop off curbs or anything like I do with some of my 36h setups.

I have an old set of miche pr1mato track hubs, and the rear is 24 hole. Maybe you can still get these, but I'm not sure. If you do end up going with a 24 hole hub, I would reccomend 2 cross over radial.

Campy definitely did 24h Pista hubs at one time. Suzue ProMaxs were available in 24h too.

Know of a couple of places you can buy 'em NOS in the UK (not cheap though) so you must be able to find 'em in the US and other places.

Have also seen Mavic 24h low flange hubs and I think, American Classics. You just need to keep your eyes peeled.

i had a gold anodized hope track hub that was only drilled 24. someone out in ebay land has it now, so it exists.

Which make? Never seen one.

Landgolier 02-05-07 02:37 PM

So do you actually want to run a 24, or do you have a rim you want to use?

Now that I think of it again, it might by 28h... I'll have to check. I know it's a Formula though, laced to some Mavic tubeless rim.
