there is this stuff made from orange oils you get at the hardware store I like it is wourk very well
blasting is faster but also could blow a hole in some tubes if not done right chemical strippers take but are probably worth while when trying to save the frame

that's my favorite stripper........ lol
seriously though the orange stuff is pretty good and somewhat less toxic than some of the others out there. In some cities there are places that do a dip thing. You can use the orange stripper and then if it still has paint get it walnut shell blasted to remove the remaining paint and roughen it up a bit. Blasting to remove all of the paint can be tricky like retem said, with very thin tube.

I've stripped bikes and car parts with several different brands and most seem to work reasonably well against certain types of paint, but invariably there's some paint that just refuses to come off chemically and you have to resort to sandpaper, etc. One instruction that I've seen on some strippers but not all, but it seems to help any of them work better: When applying, brush in one direction only and do not brush over it again.

A couple times while applying it I could feel a tiny dot of it starting to work at my skin. Kids, use gloves when handling highly caustic solutions so your skin doesn't saponify!

I have never tried it but I know brake fluid can strip the paint of cars. Might work on bike paint? Is bike paint diffrent to car paint? I don't think so. Anyone try it?

Those chemicals work. Don't use sandpaper if you don't have to. Don't use steel wool, either...carves lines into your tubes. The "orange stuff", if referring to Goo-Gone, is great for removing decals and also for taking off any dirt before adding paint detail or touch-up. Also smells really good, as it's citrus oil.

Jasco paint stripper. It's goey, and toxic as anything you can possibly imagine. But it will get ANY paint off. Period. Even powder coat. But it's toxic. It will burn your skin in seconds. You'll need serious rubber gloves.

How do you think that Ready-Strip will do? It's non-toxic.
