Chrome bag strap problem.

I'm the satisfied owner of a Chrome bag, but I'm having a problem with it that I can't seem to figure out. The strap that tightens/loosens the bag usually has a loop on the end that you can both use to grab onto and to reduce the amount of dangling strap you have when the bag's relatively empty. Somehow, my loop has disappeared. Now the strap is connected to the plastic adjuster-thing only when it's sewn around it. Has anybody else had this problem? And if so, can you recommend a way to fix it? Thanks...

are you serious?

just pull it back through, its not broke

LóFarkas 02-08-07 01:32 PM

^ Just what I wanted to say. Fold the strap in half a foot away from the buckle thingie and stuff the folded bit through the buckle. Voila!

In other news, mine (bagaboo) kept slipping, so I made a permanent 5" loop by fixing the strap to the buckle. Sooo nice to always have something largish to grab. I'm skinny enough that I wouldn't need the full length anyway.

I opened my bag and released the velco. How do I go about securing it again?

Okay, just giving you a hard time. I did the same thing last week and I have to admit that it took me a little while to figure out how to fix it. It was easy and I felt stupid when I was done. No harm done.

Telix 02-08-07 02:41 PM

Yeah that happened to me soon after I got my bag a few years back. It's obvious once you figure out how to do it. :)

Quick, no body tell him where the stash pocket is!

These are the worst explanations ever. Can someone who is not am a-hole and has mastered the English language please give better instructions. Telling me to "fold it in half" and "stuff it in the buckle thingy" is utterly useless. Thanks.

Hey did you ever figure out how to reloop your strap?

Can you tell us how you fixed it exactly. Can't figure it out for the life of me. Thanks.

t80 08-18-14 01:47 PM

It is so obvious you could quickly share with us how you did it?

seaneee 08-18-14 01:50 PM

You realize you're posting to a 7 year old thread, right?

I don't even have the bag anymore.

Yes I know the post is old. I was hoping one of you guys would still be active. Believe it or not, there is absolutely NO information on the Internet about this issue except this thread apparently. Would you happen to remember what you did to reloop your bag strap?

MidnightMaraud 08-18-14 03:49 PM

Maybe refraining from calling people "a-holes" and accusing them of being illiterate might garner you better results.

My suggestion, throw out the Chrome bag and get a Mission Workshop. Problem solved.

Fair enough. But I only called people a-holes who made fun of the OP and/or gave illegible responses. "Stick the loop through the thingy?" Do you understand what that means? I am just asking if anyone can actually explain it to me without ridicule like the OP received.I know a lot of people could benefit from this info. Thanks.

MidnightMaraud 08-18-14 04:04 PM

I do understand what that means, and even without that bit of info provided it should take an able minded person 5-10min to figure it out on their own.

Bro you're a troll. You just insulted the OP and other posters who stated it took more than 5-10 minutes to figure it out. I stand by my statement regarding a-holes and those who cannot clearly explain how to remake the loop because you embody both criticisms. Thanks for helping the community out.

Looks like this:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400160
make a loop an push it through near side
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400161
pull on inside part of new loop to drag the stitchd part through to the top
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400162
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400163
take that new loop, fold and push down through far side
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400164
pull outside part of strap till the stitched bit flips through again
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400165
there.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=400166

Took me 2 min. to "unloop" my strap and figure out how tie the loop back. then 5 min to upload the pictures and type this worthless post out

Maybe try thinking and acting before fighting and complaining next time

Well, first off, thank you. If all of you guys were able to figure this out on your own, then kudos. I thought it was pretty complicated. However, the diagram actually results with the plastic buckle being on the wrong side (hidden by the strap). I believe if the steps were reversed (far side of plastic buckle, then near side) it would result with the plastic buckle showing up on top of the finished strap. I'll try again later. It took me quite a while to get this as is. Thanks again for an awesome contribution Whythnail. If only other posters weren't snarky and rude, there would never have been a need to fight or complain in the first place.

I actually just noticed this as well, :D

I fixed it by fiddling with it a couple more times, but I'm not sure that i did anything different. perhaps the strap was flipped over or something. Anyway that's the basic idea, good luck

Pot, meet kettle...

t80 08-19-14 08:21 AM

How exactly am I the pot here? I criticized those who slammed the OP. I however was criticized by MidnightMaraud for giving them some of their own sh*t. I stand by my comments. The only person who made any sort of contribution to this thread was Wythnail. Everyone else who posted, including yourself, was at best not that helpful, and at worst an a-hole with limited English abilities.

You're clearly destined for greatness.
