Crazy russian singlespeed frame.

Posted this in classic/vintage. Trying to figure something out about it. We all know soviet **** is really poor, but still. Check it out.

I don't know anything about it, but I LOVE it! especially the swallow headbadge. yeah it's pretty crude in a uniquely soviet sorta way. that's a big part of it's charm!

lvleph 02-08-07 04:42 PM

I want a soviet bike.

DasProfezzional 02-08-07 04:46 PM

"In Communist Russia, Bike Rides You."

...had to be said. Those fork ends look like they're made out of scrapped Trabi's.

I love it when the dropouts to a bike are crimped into the stays.

That thing is pretty sick though.

genericbikedude 02-08-07 05:07 PM

that is awesome.

In a low quality, beatup, rusted out sort of way. Put a domestic headbadge on it and noone would look twice.

humancongereel 02-08-07 05:30 PM

burly track ends. rad.

Fixxxie 02-08-07 05:34 PM

Dope

Serendipper 02-08-07 05:41 PM

Does it weigh $500 pounds? It looks like it would weigh about 500 pounds.

Plush ride I'm sure, plus an upper body workout when you heft it on your shoulder!

Are you sure it's not a three-speed frame? My three-speeds have "track ends" with a little tab like that for the cable hanger. It might be an Eastern bloc 3-speed, like those old Czech Jawas.

I'd reinforce the drop outs and put some racks on it, then use it to get bread, potatoes and vodka.

dustinlikewhat 02-08-07 05:48 PM

what bottom bracket / headset threading does that use?

roughrider504 02-08-07 05:49 PM

Thats just a old roadster frame. I have a Indian roadster, and that frame is pretty much exactly what mine looks like.

tellyho 02-08-07 05:49 PM

You could ride to the town store and use it to beat your way to the head of the bread line. Sweet.

jol 02-08-07 05:50 PM

The logo is so sweet.

eddiebrannan 02-08-07 05:52 PM

junky old gaspipe pos. what are you all so excited about?

Because it's a really damn cool looking junky old gaspipe pos. There are lots of really cool looking junky old gaspipe pos frames out there, and they can make really nifty no $ town beaters. On this one it's all about the Logos, and the russian writing that I can't read. Makes it seem mysterious

slvoid 02-08-07 07:13 PM

I'm pretty sure it's brazed on after crimping...

Spot welded would be my guess.

DieselDan 02-08-07 07:30 PM

Does it look like the seat stays are bolted to the the seat clamp?
