Track stands on either foot
I have been practicing a bit and I can track stand easily and consistently with my "chocolate" foot forward. The other one? Not so much....I am definitely not ambidextrous. Is there some trick to it?

practice. The ambidextrous thing helps a lot though.

get really well with your good foot and then replicate to the other foot. it will take some time to get it down comfy. i got the idea of it in about a 1/2 an hour practicing in my living room. it took a good month to feel comfy. now its not too diff even tho i prefer my otha foot. what i do is when you come to a stops, alt btwn foots so it forces you not to rely on your good one. you may lose it a lil but its okay you'll get better. one you get both left and right tracks down you'll be ready for reverse 360's

WTF is a chocolate foot? Let's ask google:

Etymological Note: Perhaps a calque from the German Schokoladenbein ‘favored leg’ (literally ‘chocolate leg’). A similar German word is Schokoladenseite ‘attractive side’ (literally ‘chocolate side’). |
i just mastered the other foot last night. u have to keep telling ur foot to work in the opposite direction then it's used too when i do a regular trackstand

I have the same problem
Im Vanilla foot impaired I figure it just takes more practise |
when beginning with either foot, i found facing up an incline to be helpful.
also good for learning freewheel trackstands. |

Yea I've been trying to practice. I notice it helps to either zone out or completely not pay attention to the fact that I am on a bike. Like watching TV trying or to do math in my head helps a bit.
Also I recently realized my chain tension was rather tight so I loosened it up to the recommended 1/2" vertical slack when pushed down with a finger. So now my cranks have very slight play when I switch pedaling directions and I found this "dead zone" cancels out small overcorrections during track stands and makes it a lot easier. |

after a few hours you realize that if you just concentrate on the game instead of balancing you'd be fine. of course, seeing your buddy fall backwards while playing was great! haha p.s. i love the tick! |
