'The Boss' has a Zullo track bike.

Click for more pics.

A time when the grass was greener

I've got a zullo road frame also. Phil Anderson rode Zullo's at one time during his career.

There is a small history of them on Classic Rendezvous.

Here's what Classic Rendezvous has about Zullo:
https://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Zullo/Zullo.htm
I think that they are just another hand-build Italian bike co.

perhaps dave at bike works nyc?? he has one on the shop's site.

i have a zullo "sprint" road bike that i love dearly. i also bought it w/o knowing anything about zullo. i wrote the company but they didn't help me out. from the couple of others i've seen listed on craigslist, all i've been able to figure out is toga sold them (the road version at least) in the early 90's.

mine also has the engraved head tube "badge" which i think is the sexiest thing ever.

Gyeswho - just out of curiousity, what LBS do you shop at?

I ask this because there is a LBS on White Plains road around 226 street. Arrow Cycles. The old man there is a really nice guy. He has an original Raleigh Super Course, NOS. It's on the left side right in front of the counter. It seems to be about your size.

I would have bought it if it was my size, take off the components and sell them on CL are Ebay, and built it up as a conversion. It is a beautiful bike. You wouldn't have to paint it.

Philly, now. But I was born and raised in the Bronx.

So you've seen that bike? It's really beautiful.

I just picked up a Zullo. The lettering on it feels like vinyl stick-on letters. It feels embossed like but just not substantial. Is this the case with your bike? Zullo is engraved on the seat stays and "Z" on the fork. Also the word Special is engraved in the BB area.

Actually, I just went out to the garage and checked it out again. Last night I was afraid to pick at the lettering and have what I thought might be vinyl lettering come off. I've picked at it now and it's really embossed lettering. Very cool!

Are you happy with your ride?

o man the thing is great especially since it was $350, campy record group on it, and its a rare frame . I have to get used to pedal overlap though as this is a new to me. the tubulars make things feel smoother but i dont know if i want to risk riding tubies in the street. the seat is very rough on the thighs and i am looking to upgrade to a brooks because my style of riding can't take something that wide. i was thinking of getting the lugs chromed and the thing painted black again because of how beat up it is, but i took a poll and many ppl said leave it the way it is. Now i love the way it looks now and am content. Got any pics of yours? How's your ride? When and where'd you get it from?

I have posted pics on the classics and vintage forum here. I got it in Orange County, off CL. It's in pretty good shape and I paid cheap for it. Check it out.

My bud is going to take pics of the Zullo I had sold him. It was blue metallic with white trim within the logo . I painted it brown after a paint job gone bad.
