NYC Bicycle Shops

Okay I've searched some threads regarding NYC bicycle shops.

So far I've got:

Trackstar
NYC Bikes
NYC Velo
Bike Works
King Kog
Bike Doctor
Bicycle Station

I'm going to NYC pretty soon. I'd like to visit some *nice* stores; Check out some inventory.
I'll be going all over NYC. Can ya'll hit me up with some more names and locations?
I ride fixies mostly, but any bike shop would be great.

I like the old ones with class.

Probably not what you are looking for, but "NYCE Wheels" (York Ave & 83rd/84th or something like that) is fun. Last time we were in NYC we went there and tried a bunch of the electric bikes, neither of us had any intention of buying one and I think they knew, but we spent a few hours riding the bikes and talking to a couple of the guys at the shop. "Gotham Bikes" was ok too, on W. Broadway north of Chambers St.

When are you going to be in NYC? I'm going again for spring break this year (March 11th-17th). I've been there twice and it's so quiet and depressing around here when I come back...Goddamn I love NYC.

If you just want to look at eye candy, R&A in brooklyn has an impressive inventory of super high-end bikes. They are mostly asses, but the stock they have will def make you drool.

yeah i think the guy's name is jimmy.
and i think the shop is called spin city cycles.
he's a great dude with awesome enthusiasm.
highly recommended.

if you happen to be in brooklyn:
bay ridge: there's bay ridge bikes on 88th and 3rd.
canarsie: there's racer's edge bikes on rockaway parkway and avenue n.
prospect heights: bike station has been mentioned already, but +1. vanderbilt and dean.

i used to get a very bad vibe from r&a in park slope
but the last time i went with my friend there was a woman there who was mad nice.
so if you go (definitely worth a stop in) look for her.

+1 on spin city - if oyu're in queens, def check them out.

we almost bought my wife's last bike there (she found her size cheaper elsewhere) but they were very helpful, nice shop, tons of cool duds too.

i just went to the new Sid's (W 19th street). Highly recommended.....

HUGE beautiful shop, and the mech there (same dude whom I've seen at 34th street in past - dreadlocks) was everything I want in a mechanic - friendly, articulate, knowledgable and honest. he didn't pull my leg or try to sell me anything or give me attitude. He gave the str8 poop about my old wheel which is beyond saving (I was pretty sure already, but try getting a shop to simply confirm this.....-customer service, anyone? HELLO******************************). After years of putting up with rude hipster/poser nonsense in most NYC shops, I was fairly shocked - but happily so. It basically took 5 minutes of his time, tops - for which he just secured my future patronage for his store.

In contrast I had just made phone calls to a few of the well-known shops and based on 100% attitude problems (this is over the phone - I can just imagine once I'd get in the shop!) I stayed away. This is after getting crapola service and dishonesty from three other local shops in recent weeks, working on the same damaged wheel.

I was so grateful, even tho I decided not to pay too much to save my old wheel, that I bought $40 worth of clothes I wanted anyway and will def go back again.
