BF IRO Size question

So I am pretty set on getting one of the BF IRO frames cause it is a great deal. Right now I'm riding a sulry steamroller that is 59cm. It fits well, but I wanted to go w/ a smaller frame. The IRO jumps down to a 56cm though. Is that going to be way to small for me?

Any opinions appreciated.

If you are measuring by TT length:

The TT length on the 56cm is 55.5cm.

If you have a 59cm and you want a little smaller than that, would that be 57cm or 55.5cm?

If you want 57cm then you have to order the "size 59cm.

If you want the 55.5cm then you have to order the 56cm.

I hope I didn't confuse you.

Not to hijack too much, but I was also torn between the 56 and the 59. I'm 5'11". I ended up ordering the 59 as the 57cm top tube matches my Peugeot roadbike which seems to measure 56.5 or 57.

Although the Pug was just a dumb luck find, it doesn't feel like I'm too stretched out on it. The seat tube on the Pug is only 56 and I have a lot of seatpost out to get proper leg extension (and correspondingly have the seat-to-bar drop that comes with it).

Hopefully I made the right choice...I guess I still have one day left to reconsider or order one of each size! :D

I'm 6'2" and ordered a 56. Initially went with the 59, but switched it a couple days ago to the 56. I ride a 59 pista right now and feel way too stretched out and unstable all around on it. It would have been nice if the IRO sizes were true to most other frame sizes, but for $150 I guess a little guessing can't hurt.

I'm sure someone out there will order a 59 and want a 56 when it's all said and done. If that's the case, I'll have someone to trade with...lol.

Is your 31" inseam your "pants" size, or the actual measurement from the floor to your crotch bone as usually described by bicycle sizing guides?

I'm asking because I wear 32" pants, but measured from the floor to the bone I'm 35-35.5". (89cm)

I don't want to belabor the point, but I am trying to pick the right size the first time...
