You're being regarded that way because you're behaving like a classic internet troll. Rather than engaging in actual conversation and then making up your, you made up your mind beforehand and despite evidence (and your own statements) to the contrary, refuse to acknowledge that anything that's been said to you is valid.

* You pointed out a minor cosmetic imperfection
* An expert bag maker at the top of the field told you why that was not a structural concern
* Said bag maker also explained how those bags *DO* have years upon years of actual day-in, day-out field testing
* You admitted you're not an expert in construction (in fact, you apparently have exactly zero sewing experience)
* And yet you still say "I see a 1/2 mm cosmetic imperfection and worry that the bag is going to fall apart" (yes, you didn't say those exact words, but your implication is clear).

Is that clear?

I know you've got your buddy's back here and all, but seriously, pretend you're me, sitting at home considering buying a very expensive and allegedly handmade by the best of the best bag, and go look through the UTW gallery. Almost every place you can see binding stitching on a bag, it wobbles, and by more than 1/2mm (I'm going to stand by this assertion: when your goal is to sew a straight line, and the line you sew isn't straight, that's a problem). Many, many straight seams are wrinkled. The "About Us" section admits that they outsourced to improve quality on pants, which require better sewing than a bag. And yet I'm supposed to believe that this is top-quality stuff? Can you see why I'm a little skeptical?

So why do you spend so much time worrying about it? you're not going to buy their bags. you decided that a long time ago, and yet you're still examining their seams, and posting disparaging comments on bikeforums about them. I too spend a great deal of time examining products before I buy. Then I make my decision, and move on. None of their perspective customers needs your opinion. they can judge a straight line for themselves, and if they DID need your opinion that need would have been fulfilled a LONG time ago. Now you're just posting the same thing again and again. The seams aren't straight! there's pucker! you forkers can't sew! the sky is falling! OMG OMG that stuff is SO cave! Yeah we hear you. we don't agree, but we sure as hell do hear you.

If anyone ever DID care about your opinion, they stopped caring a long time ago. Now we're just pointing and laughing.

Hey, the first run of 15 black bags are all cut out and ready to be put together. I sprained my ankle so i am a day behind but they are coming with in the next week! Thanks for everyones orders. I will look forward to seeing plenty of pics/reviews. Also, I started a new thread for bag related debates. Thanks again.

You guys have really made my week.
Note that you haven't shown evidence where you had a structural problem with a bag due to "wobbly stiching". You haven't made any suggestion about how this "wobbly stitching" could theoretically lead to any structural probem.

Teamdickie used a bag to destruction (precicesly the kind of stress testing you claimed to advocate), and had no problems with the binding or stiching, which is what you've focused on. Most bag companies do their stress testing by sending bags out to be used, loking at the ragged, tattered remains of bags which come back after years of use, and adjusting their designs accordingly. Show me a serious messenger bag that you've destroyed due to wobbly stiching, or any stitching problem at all.

Nor have you made any suggestions about how bags could be improved, either in design or materials. (apart from the spurious insistance on a bartack machine for points which don't appear to have a problem with failure).

Unacceptable. Every bag maker should be as indestructible as their product to insure prompt shipping and 100% health at the time of manufacturing. I'm calling the BBB, Bikeforums Bashing Bureau.

On a serious note, thanks for attempting to keep your post on topic amidst flying opinions.

The BBB has long since deserted this thread.

Good luck with ankle, Dan! Try to operate the foot pedal with telekinesis while it heals

Ohio's worst drivers take a hint from baseball teams, and spend the winter months in Florida honing their skills.

I personally like the Ohio logo, but it took me a while to figure it out. Originally I thought it was a stylised Transformers symbol.

Can't wait to see the final pics.

eh, my last bag prominently featured forest green.

Not hard at all, just don't pierce the liner layer and you will be fine.

you also want to watch out for puckering, right?
and make sure your stitching is a straight line and doesn't vary by even a millimeter.

Yeah, also be sure to use contrasting thread so that it's easy to tell when you color outside the lines on your own logo:
