Motorist Vs. Courier

"In Toronto's Kensington Market this man litters out of his car, and the courier throws it back inside. After she had thrown it back in his car he came out and this took place."

but, it should be noted that the pictures are in a diff place than the original confrontation. The motorist & courier scuffled over the original litter disagreement, the fella got physical first in that one too according to witness accounts. They separated, went their diff ways. Except his way was to drive a block or two, park, disembark, return to scene, follow courier who had left, and attack from behind. This is the point at which the pictures you see began.

It was all regrettable, but where the pictures began is for all purposes a premeditated attack, not an escalated confrontation. The guy made a serious mistake & got lucky when she decided to be a nice person about it all. It's clear (especially from photo 5) that he could've had his ass handed to him if she weren't de-escalating & been the loser as far as criminal & civil matters go too.

Personally I feel sorry for him, it was wrong what he did but can you imagine if that were you in the photos? Caught attacking a stranger from behind on film then spread on the internet? Harsh.

Not enough if you ask me. But I do recall that there was a similar legal threat against the courier along the lines of you press charges against me, we'll press charges against you.

My mind is a bit fuzzy on that or it might've been just rumour.

True, they did try to make a threat like that, but they also did so with having the courage to name themselves or account for witness statements & police reports. The courier was forthright about all of it, & we all know when it is easiest to be forthright.

I'm hoping that it someday stops popping up, since the photog didn't witness the first altercation many assume the courier predicated that confrontation when by the time he was approaching from behind, she thought the littering confrontation was over & was riding away. Her bike was locked & they were both on a diff street during the original confrontation.

I hope it dies, but I don't mind being sure that folks know where those photos began.
