Rave! Randonneur bars
So the girlfriend just got a Schwinn Traveler 3 off of CL. This being her first road bike, she wasn't too keen on the drops, so I swapped them out with the mustache bars from my single speed until we can order some for her.
I put the randonneur bars from the schwinn on my SS and I LOVE them. I had to raise the stem about 1.5 cm, but I've never felt so comfortable in the drops. I don't know if it's the size, style, what?, but they just feel perfect. Anybody else ride randonneurs and have the same experience? |
If you like Rando's, you'll love Midges.
BTW, it's the flare that does it. |

http://bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=28 "Yeah, I actually put a set on my commuter when I started having to go longer distances with less stopping and the bullhorns weren't cutting it. It's pretty much all of the advantages of track drops without the PITA factor of narrow tops, no useful shoulders, and not being very good when forward in the drops. Also, you can pull a nice light Al pair out of the junk pile for like $5. However, I mainly think they're going to get popular because it's the one bar style nobody is running right now, so pretty soon everyone will be on it. Kind of like how when you walk down the street and don't see any cool kids wearing Chucks, you can be pretty sure that the coolest of the cool are going to be wearing Chucks in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..." |

With regards to the Chucks, tons of people still wear them at my college and think they're a revolutionary little bit of fashion. That's Ohio for ya. |
