Stolen: Panasonic Time Trial
My bike was stolen last night near Pratt institute (Clinton Hill/ Fort Greene area) 02/28/07 around 1:30am-2:00ish in Brooklyn, NY. It was free locked in the hallway of a friends apt.(right in front of her door). It's a Panasonic Team Time Trial with sloping top tube coverted to fixed. It's red and blue. Maroon Brooks Team Professional saddle. Wheels are Mavic Open Pro CD laced to Phil high flange track hubs; rear is a double fixed. Front is a 650 and rear is 700. Both wheels have purple Tri-Comp Vredestein . gearing is 42x16/15 (both of the cogs are phil track cogs). Gold Izumi Track chain. Phil Bottom Bracket with Shimano 600 road crank. MKS pedal with chrome toe clips with yellow record leather straps. Yellow ITM stem with Nitto duraluminum(bronze-ish color) 37cm track drops with blue cinelli tape wrapped track style. tekpro fx2 front brake lever with campy veloce; red cable housing. Time carbon fork. I've just moved here from SF and i would love to have my bike back so i can get around. Any help/lead is great appreciated. let me know if you find any of these parts.

Call the local bike shops and let them know it was stolen, sometimes stupid people go to bike shops to see how much things are worth.
Keep your eye on Craigslist and pawn shops.
If I see/hear of anybody in Philly selling something similar, I will PM you.

Really sucks. Can't understand why that kind of setup would be desirable to most thieves, unless they want to sell for cash. I ride thru Clinton Hill most everyday on Myrtle Ave on my way home. If I spot it, I give you a headsup.

Free locking is when you don't physically lock your bike to anything, you just use whatever lock you have to secure the wheel or wheels to the frame.

My point, as you've missed it, was that free locking a bike does nothing to prevent theft. It's like running a cable through the straps of your duffle bag and then leaving it on a public street. You simply walk away with it. I hope the OP finds it.
Fix, whether you get that in the message, is of no concern to me.

i live in the neighborhood and lost a bike a few years ago the same way. a panasonic pursuit should turn enough heads, (more than my crappy conversion) but please post a picture if you have one and i'll keep an eye out for it.
dunno if you have rental insurance or not, but you'll want to fill out a police report if you want to get any insurance money back.
sorry about the bad first impression, but the hood is actually very nice...

i'll keep my eyes peeled, my office is in a storefront so i see every bike that rides by, there was a guy riding a panasonic on the bridge(not pursuit but a conversion) and then right across the bridge i was locking infront of my bank and a guy walked by with a pink panasonic track bike so as soon as soon as i say this thread i kinda paniced, and as i write this a guy just walked by with another panasonic conversion. apparently it's a day for panasonics, i wrote down your digits, i'll call if i see it, also i'll stop the guy who's riding it
