Bad ebay seller warning
I bid on and bought this Shimano BB
ebay auction of bottom bracket Was supposed to have a 107mm spindle. I was sent the same item, but with a 115mm spindle. This is what I sent the seller: "Received the BB-UN73 today - was advertised as a 107mm spindle length - you shipped me a 115mm. The BB you shipped is model# 1BBUN73B15,(the B15 signifying 115mm?),but I've measured it at that length, too. What's our next step? Thanks" Today I got back his reply: "No, that item was checked prior to shipping and the exact item as listed was sent to you. We accept no returns" Do not buy from this seller - sellchamp2007 |
Threaten w/ bad feedback, duh.
|
did you pay with paypal? Open a "item not received as described" complaint thingy.
|
I'm not done, but fixing this through formal channels is not going to make him an honest seller.
|
You could ship him back a turd, which I have never, ever, ever ddone (even twice) to unscrupulous Ebay sellers :p
|
Nothing you can do is going to make a dishonest man into an honest one. Get your spindle and walk away, man.

let karma catch up with him. |

The best possible solution?
Put it back on ebay... specify the size CORRECTLY, and try and make your money back. Bottom brackets aren't very expensive, so fortunately you're not out much. Support your LBS... good things always happen. |
The big problem with eBay is that if you leave bad feedback, so will he. There's nothing that says anyone has to substantiate their feedback. I bought a pair of ex-display Specialized cycling shoes, really cheap, about £6.50. When they arrived, both were right shoes. Seller ignored all my messages, and looking back, on the few occasions he had negative feedback, that was the same story. So, I opened a Paypal dispute, and he offered me a refund if I returned the shoes at my cost. I would've spent as much on 2 x shipping as I would get back from the shoes. What are my options? None. I might post negative feedback on the last possible day, but the thing is, I have 100% feedback. If he posts negative to me, it does me a LOT more damage than I will do posting a negative to him. It's too dangerous to my sellng businesss, so I won't do it.

I would threaten with bad feedback. He only has 52 points now, one bad feedback is really going to hurt his rating and his ability to sell. Tell him that.
|
Yeah, and as another poster said, put it back on eBay with the correct length and explain why are are listing it(with a link)

you could bid really high on his other items with your "other" Ebay account, and not pay.
but then again, karma is a very dangerous thing to be messing with... |
