I would disagree strongly. An uncut steerer is simply an aesthetic concern. A radial laced rear wheel is a safety problem.

Something like this, but he didn't waste money on a U-lock, he just went straight for the old Master padlock.

I still love the broomstick handlebars and italian restaurant tablecloth inspired tt pad.

Though, for the sake of full-disclosure, my FG has an uncut steer tube.

i know the general opinion is that you can't radial lace the drive side rear...but i read somewhere that some actual track racers were doing and getting away with it. i forget where exactly i read that htough.

No, it's really that small, Kryptonite and other U-lock makers put out mini U-locks for some reason I've yet to fathom.

Well isn't that the U-Lock that goes through the chain? I know they sell those stand-alone, presumably because one would pair it with a chain of their liking. Obviously that function is lost on the Kid Robot people.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the ulock that goes with the NY and other chains, plus a powdercoat.

There were a few very well used track bikes at the Handmade Bicycle Show last year with radial rear wheels.

I know of two riders who have used radial rears for track racing. One rode a radial spoked 24 holer for pursuits. The other used a 36 holer radial laced with Hoshi blades! (the type with no spoke head).

Neither rider had any problem with the wheels, and the 24 hole pair still get occasional use.

The 36 hole pair was used by a former Australian track champion (team pursuit). He could ride a 1.08 kilo. So the guy was giving the wheel a hammering.

Now, I'm not saying you want to jump of kerbs or do skid competitions on a radially spoked rear, but...they're far stronger than commonly believed.

I think I'd be less worried about it on the track than on the street with skidding and such.....just seems so stressful for the flanges. What kind of hubs were they using? I've heard many times that people don't recommend radial lacing high-flange DAs....

You know, that Felt Dispatch, as featured on the website, looks like a pretty smart design as far as budget commuter bikes go.
