It's not just sticky. It's one of the most popular threads, proving what this forum is really for.

And the DIY thread gets no attention.

Man, Rocco's bike looks like it got squeezed in a garbage compactor. What a sport, that guy was.

Is converting, track-dropping, and clear Oury-ing a bike that could have been ridden in the Tour in its day a jackass move?

My gut says yes, but I'll put it to the forum. Thoughts?

Edit: Also consider the top-tube pad.

I dunno, I'm wavering on that one, the TT pad and the bar set up are the only bummers, but it does look nice

Please tell me he hasn't painted the chrome parts black? Or is this some weird thing that Pinarello did in the '90s? It really really should be with gears.

You can see it better in some of the other pictures. Dude's Velospace says they're "smoked chrome," which I guess is Columbus's technical term for "that which elicits jism." But on further review, I'm resolved: fixing that bike is unforgivable. I don't care how custom the Reload top-tube protector is, it's still a top-tube protector on a Montello SLX. The tubing is rifled, for chrissakes, rifled.

The bike must hate itself right now. Thing is, with a frame like that, you've got to get the rest perfect.

rifled just means lighter with comparable stiffness to what
the tubing would be without rifling right? Sounds expensive--
I say a good road bike makes a good conversion but the execution
makes it look a little silly

This is the stupidest, most crapidest, dumberiest bike ever yo! What is the deal with the 167.5 cranks? They are clearly at least 2.5mm too long for the street. And you know that TT protector cost like 1/3 of a hundred dollars plus a bit, and he could have made a i-do-not-care-about-what-anyone-thinks-about-my-humble-honest-workingclass bike tt protector out of a sock and some packaging tape, mcGuyver style. Wack carbon disc that will only weigh down his '**** me *****es' skid attempts. The drops were there for a reason! Stupid top mounted grips, NJS approved, when we all know NJS stuff is cheap rubbish with dents in it, that Japan only use because they are yankee-gambler based old school mentality havin fools with no clue, and you cannot ride araya gold/tubular on the street. Impossible. The bike just wont move. Dont bother trying. Trust me, I have been bagging bikes online for weeks if not months. Unsealed bearing front hub. Wack. What if it rains? Oh my god. Metal clips that could damage your shoes easier than plastic ones and cost $2 more. Wack. Track stem, sore neck, wack. That headset and BB clearly need a re-greasing. Wack. Look at how much that handlebar just does not want to swing. Tied front spokes, soldered. Wack, doesnt do anything apparently. Frame is made by a tyre company who dabble in golf clubs. Wack. Disgusting leather saddle, with overpriced Nitto seatpost. Wack. Stickers covering up hekomi marks on the disc. Wack. This guy probably has a rich dad who buys him carbon discs and stuff. I hate that rich dad thing. His chain tensioners are not njs approved. The only good NJS part made right? wack.
PLUS add obligatory seat angle, colour code stuff, superfluous carbon bits, silly handlebar, etc...
Just wack wack wack wack....
