maybe something like this and don't get the wrong idea, this is for reference only, i'm not saying this is a jackass bike even though i'm probably way faster than the guy that rides that.

yeah like look at the bikes on businesscycle's website. https://www.businesscycles.com/pinarello_pista.htm
from what ive seen, this is the kind of thing you're more likely to see at a US velodrome than some njs frame with crazy drop distance
my (limited) sense of it is that only keirin riders use things like super deep drop stems

It's kind of pointless to compare the drop on the bike of a world class athlete with the bike of some hipster. Obviously the athlete is considerably more flexible, so his saddle to drop reach is naturally greater (allowing him a more aerodynamic position). Also, it's presumable that a track racer would spend LESS time in the drops than the person who is only pretending to be a track racer, since actual races usually last only a few minutes, whereas riding around on your bike posing can take all day.

Look closely and you'll see that it's not just a heart, but all the suits in a deck of cards. Makes it better if you ask me.

It does appear to be a paul crankset. Very nice but at $240 I'll pass.

$240? Nevermind, forget what I said. Doesn't make it better anymore. I refuse to say anything good about a chainring that costs more than my entire bike.

Just making sure you were clear on that. Though I'd say whether that necessarily falls under the category of 'emo' is arguable. But it's an argument I'll pass on making right now.
